Blue-eyed soul fo sho. This song reached the top American r&b charts and radio back in the 60s. People were shocked when they appeared on TV and discovered they were white LOL. A humongous classic hit for them that never grows old.

Remember, it’s the “exchange” of energy that makes the magic! It cannot be one sided. There must be the exchange. While it’s great that you feel, receive and love the energy you receive from your audience, the true reason it works, is because YOU share your energy, enthusiasm, and love with us too! It’s that equal sharing that enhances ALL of us! ❤️

Excellent! Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield...killer duo. You'd like "Soul and Inspiration" and "Unchained Melody" (the video, which is live and totally Bobby singing...no autotune). Love your reactions.................................

After all these years, I still get chills when I hear this song ❤️ 💚 💙 💜 Few Fun Facts: They got their name from some black marines who saw them perform as the “Paramours” in 1963 & they shouted, “that was righteous brothers!” Also, the infamous Cher was part of the backing vocals, before she became famous, & last but not least, their manager booked them into a black nightclub in Watts, California before they got big, & the patrons of the club started throwing things at them on stage when they saw they were white, & The Righteous Brothers didn't know what to do, so they just started singing, & all the patrons sat down with their mouths open, & wouldn't let them leave after that, & the term, Blue Eyed Soul, was born 😃 👓 👓 😃

We had Passion back then and you can feel it in our music. I am 71 years old and I was 15 when they did this. This was 1964 and NO Auto Tune.
@foots-qt4pk5 жыл бұрын
They did this video live in 1964, WAY before auto-tune. The tall guy, Bill Medley, was 24 at that time, If you watch the movie "Dirth Dancing", he singsaduet with Jennifer Warnes called, "Ive Had The Time Of My Life" I think you would like. Of course their classics, "Soul and Inspiration" and Bobbys solo, "Unchained Melody"!!

Color television has a somewhat complex history in the United States. The first color television sets were made by RCA in 1954, but there was not a lot of television stations broadcasting in color at that time, nor were there very many programs or films broadcast in color. "The syndicated Western TV series, "The Cisco Kid", and "Sergeant Preston Of The Yukon" were filmed in color, so they could be seen in color. Although most episodes of "The Adventures Of Superman" were filmed in color, they were not broadcast in color until 1965 in reruns. In the late-1950s, "The Wizard Of Oz" was broadcast in color by CBS (with a brown tint for the black-and-white footage in the film). In 1959, NBC began broadcasting episodes of the Western series, "Bonanza", which was filmed and broadcast in color. In the 1960s, NBC started to show more and more programs in color. CBS and ABC were still lagging behind, with ABC not broadcasting any color programming until 1962. All three US commercial television networks began "all-color" television broadcasting during the 1967-68 season. Even so, there were some programs that were videotaped in black-and-white during that time period, due to the high cost of color video tape machines and color video tape. By 1970, all commercial TV programs that were videotaped were done so on color videotape. Note: after the assassination of President Kennedy, it was revealed that the three commercial television networks were not videotaping their news broadcasts for historical records. Vanderbilt University (located in Nashville, Tennessee) then began the practice of recording the three television networks' evening news broadcasts. Unfortunately, the university could only afford to record the broadcasts on a black-and-white videotape recorder, all the way to the late-1970s, when they finally got some color videotape recording equipment and color video tape.

I don’t know if someone said this already, but when they were starting out as a duo and after doing a concert at a US Marine base, a group of Black Marines said “You guys are righteous brothers.”

Best to do Righteuos Brothers. (Unchained Melody ) Live, in Color, 1965, Best Quality. Bobby Hatfield sings this one alone. His voice is remarkable. I've heard this song covered by a dozen people. Nobody, Nobody sings this song better than Booby Hatfield. Not even Elvis.

If you REALLY want to branch out, you could give electronic pioneers a go, yeah there's the late 70s-early 80s era stuff like Depeche Mode/Yazoo, Gary Numan/Tubeway Army, Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, The Human League etc. But the REAL pioneers were the late 60s and early 70s Jean Michel Jarre and Kraftwerk, and to an extent David Bowie.
