Even though I was there with you I’m still in awe at the shear amount of comics we had around us. There were whole areas I never even got to. It was a fabulous time being there and finally seeing the legendary Koch warehouse. Thanks for a spending the day with me and geeking out.😁

Couldn't agree more Roger! Lucky you, you get to revisit the place not too long from now. Also, you got to more areas than I have. I was stuck mostly at the $2 bins when Mr. Koch keep handing me new batches of $2 books for me to refill the bins. LOL I think he only charged me $1 each for those $2 books because it should not have been less than $1.40 per book with 30% discount. Instead, even with those $3 and $5 books, he only charged me $1.25 per book. 😎 Thanks for suggesting such place, Roger! It was a blast!

Just recently found out about Koch. What a warehouse. Seems disorganized, but the owner seemed to know where everything was. Great meet up and pick ups!

Hi Jonathan! That warehouse is amazing. I was going to visit again in few months to pick up more Pence copies. Unfortunately, MetaRog recently told me that warehouse will be closing down. :( Thanks for the visit Jonathan! :)

I have not seen High Fidelity but I collect vinyl records myself and Koch had vinyl record section. I got so lost in comic book area I had no time to visit records area. :..( I hope to go back to it soon too. :)

You know, I don't think I've ever been in a subway in the States. I rode one in Korea, but never here in America. Wow, the massive amount of comics in that shop is crazy. It doesn't look very organized so it's a good thing you set a timer for yourselves so that you didn't end up spending the night there. lol I'm surprised you didn't re-stock that Playboy collection your wife threw out. lol Very cool haul! That was a lot of books for only $60! Like 41, thanks for sharing!

I haven't been to subway in Korea over 35 years but I still think they had the best subway system. I am sure they even better now. I have been to Subway in UK and Italy too. I think here in DC one is the worst. NYC and UK one about equal even thought NYC one is dirtiest. Hey Nam good seeing you guys geeking out together! I only have to say two words… TOO MUCH ! I would have been totally confused with all those books around me knowing I would probably be missing out on something that I really wanted or needed for a collection, my hat off to you guys for setting a time limit. Personally I’d been looking for the original kiss comic done in their blood and the Playboy book that KISS was in…lol. Enjoy your haul buddy and take care! ~ Jeff

Hey Jeff, Honestly, it was bit overwhelming for me as well. We were forced to keep a time limit because I had to return to my mom. Her care keeper would only stay so many hours per day... otherwise, I personally would come out when they kick me out. LOL I am looking for the KISS blood print issue too. I had a chance to get it for $40 two years ago but my rule about not spending more than $30 got to me. It is now going for $80 or more for low grades and higher grades could go well over $400. Yikes! Koch is a great place but I think they pulled out all the key books like that in the warehouse so they could be sold on-line like ebay. Regarding a Playboy book where Gene Simon is on the cover with 3 young ladies in KISS make ups, I think that might be worth a search at Koch. Great place, especially if you like cat piss, filth, potential mugging, and the last dredgings of a once ample inventory! Scraps are your best bet...getting back to the R train alive is your 2nd bet!!!

Yes, I heard about the inventory; a dramatic change since I have been there. I was impressed with inventory not the rundown warehouse itself. I also heard it will close soon if not already. So, I have no desire to return to the warehouse. Thanks for the visit.

What is the pence or the p thing you referred to do a couple of the issues?

The pence variants? I think prior to 80s, UK had their own monetary values printed on comic books, i.e. instead of printing cents value they would print pence values. I am happy because I was able to pick up about dozen books that are marked with pence values. It maybe a common thing for Brits but not so common in USA. :)
