I would love to see a kitcar build off. Something like a westfield/caterham style build with the engine/trans/suspension from a donor car. Its super cheap and easy, but still allows for alot of unique choices for every team.

The thing is, it has airconditioning, idles perfectly in trafic, probably has cruise control, is tractable at low speeds but can also HAUL ASS from a dig. And STOP from 200 down to zero repeatedly without a fuss. Top German engineering right there.

Back in the mid seventies, my neighbor, who was the service manager for the local Porsche/Ferrari dealer, stopped by with a 1978 911 Turbo Carrera that he had to take on a test ride. We turned onto Topanga Canyon Blvd and he floored it. In two blocks the car was doing 90 mph and was still in first gear and it only had a 4 speed back then (they didn't need a 5 speed). I was hooked on Porsches ever since. You know what they say: Porsche - There Is No Substitute !

This is why the 911 is *literally* the best sports car. 60 years of fine tuning made this thing possible. The Turbo S is already fast but this thing has 900hp and still drives “normal”. That’s insane. Not to mention it can do unlimited launches without limp mode being activated. A true dream car.

INSANELY fun fact that’s probably gonna go over SO many heads… Nathan Cicio used to live in my apartment building !! He brought over the twin turbo C8 and a bunch of Porsches/GTRS.. crazy small world, I remember meeting you cleet (as a fan) now I’ve grown up and got some credibility, it’s just crazy to see the people I used to live with working with my favorite KZbinrs.. There was a point in my life where I had pretty little, I’ve always dreamed about being around these cars and great people.. This video is awesome !! So happy you’re working things out Garrett, Cicio has an amazing performance company… there shop is still right up the street from my apartment (I’m in Alpharetta Georgia)… Point is, chase your passion.. even when I was going through the dirt I ALWAYS stayed passionate about cars.. I already see so much foreshadowing for myself when I look at these videos.. it’s honestly a matter of time before I’m heavy in the scene.. Damn Cleetus, about time you went full Porsche guy on us. I was saying from the moment you got it that it was only a matter of time until you realized what a fierce machine they are. They corner really well because of the rear engine. It keeps the front light under braking to the center of the corner and when you hit the gas at the apex, the car pivots on the rear wheels and digs out without any problem at all. They are as close to a factory made race car as you will ever see.

I’m no expert on them and I’ve never driven one but out of all the Supercars the Porsche has to be my favourite. It’s engineered with a completely different philosophy to most of the others. The fact that it’s a high performance car capable of being a rival to Ferraris and Lamborghini’s but you can reliably daily drive it on just about any road/street and park it without needing someone to guide you in, is a testament to the engineering that’s gone into them over the years.
