Not a Christian band. There were 6 members, Chester Bennington (lead vocalist), Mike Shinoda (vocalist, rapper/MC, piano/keys, guitar, producer, driving force behind the band.. he's the one you thought may be Joe), Joe Hahn (DJ, primary visual artist, directed many music videos), Brad Delson (guitarist), Dave "Phoenix" Farrell, (bass guitarist), and Rob Bourdon (drums). Linkin Park's first two albums, Hybrid Theory and Meteora, were considered "nu metal". Their subsequent studio albums all had different sounds, more electronic, alternative rock, pop, some hip-hop. "Numb" was one of the "softer" songs off of Meteora. If you want a song with more energy from that time period, I'd suggest "One Step Closer" or "A Place For My Head". I personally love every song on the first two albums (also love almost every song they made, but I'm a big fan). Thanks for checking out Linkin Park!

It's funny that you said that about neighborhoods because growing up I grew up in a subdivision called " Iincoln Park" which tickled me pink since I also grew up listening to Linkin Park. Shout out to Warner Robbins, my dad lived there till he passed. it's a nice town, very quiet.

Not this song. But Linkin Park did have some songs on the Transformers soundtracks. New Divide What I've Done Iridescent Numb is definitely not a wedding type song. I don't think any of their songs would be considered wedding types.

Even as a big fan of the band, I'd be a bit disappointed if my romantic partner thought to play this song to me, especially at a wedding reception, seeing as it's about feeling smothered and controlled by someone who wants to turn you into what they want you to be. Bit of a cry for help to hear at a wedding, I'd say! The band certainly isn't a Christian band (at least two members aren't Christian, that I know of). But you were almost right about the Transformers soundtrack; not this song, but the band had three songs featured on Transformers movies; What I've Done, New Divide, and Iridescent. Linkin Park blew up from nothing with their debut album Hybrid Theory, which became the best selling album of that year (2000) I believe, and one of the best selling debut albums of all time. Numb is probably the softest song their album Meteora, and their softer song of their debut album In The End is another megahit. But generally, the sound of their first two albums was heavier and more aggressive. I'd suggest watching the Live In Texas performance of their song A Place For My Head to get a sense of what the band was also about, and just to watch a spectacular performance.

Please check out Linkin Park - A Place for My Head (Live In Texas) from their 2nd album and since you mentioned this sounds like a movie soundtrack, please listen to Iridescent [Live in Red Square 2011] - Linkin Park. It's from the 3rd Transformers movie.

I like to get high as much as the next man, but you actually forgot to pay any attention to what’s happening. I get it man, they look like a Christian band because they’re in a church and maybe my wife might wanna dance to it at our wedding and it sounded nice, don’t worry about the lyrics. To be honest it was a hilarious reaction really because you didn’t even know what the fuck you listened to 😂

It would be great if you could hear more from Mike's side too, because in "Numb" he's not very prominent. I recommend you listen to "Papercut" from the album Hybrid Theory, which kicks it off (and then you just want more), "Lying from you" from the album Meteora, or from the same album (the most underrated song) "Figure.09". Every song of theirs from the album Hybrid Theory or the album Meteora is amazing! There isn't a single weak track on those albums. And for a real showcase of Chester's vocal skills, you can check out "Given up" or "QWERTY" (Live from Summer Sonic Tokyo 2006)
