That guitar solo at the end releases all the pain and tears that seemed to be pent up. The title "High Hopes" describes all of us - starting life with the belief that life can be ALL that we want it to be. Over time all of us have to figure out that we have to be happy where we are and within the limitations forced upon us.

This song is like a transformational experience. Dreamlike is right. Taking us back to those times when our souls were free and unencumbered by the physical. When we soared above it all. This song triggers those memories.

Imagine living back when I did when most of the songs had something deep to say. You would have loved the 60's and 70's. The problem is you would be old now. Lol.

Great reaction. This song to me is about nostalgia and even a little regret, speaking to how things were as kids. How back then it was all optimism. Then "time took our dreams away." Definitely need more Pink Floyd on this channel!

This was the last track (released October 1994) on their 14th studio Album Titled " The Division Bell " . Pink Floyd videos can be very trippy, it's almost like a dream watching them and there's a lot to take in , so top marks for reacting to them! Their most successful single commercially is "Another Brick In The Wall " and that video used to scare me when I was younger Lol 😂 I won't say too much about it in case you react to it at some point . People's interpretation of a song can be different, but I thought your thoughts on screen , captured the meaning of the song beautifully in the way you saw it.

I do hope you’ll prepare yourself and begin your trip into Pink Floyd’s live “PULSE” concert from 1994 - the single most mind-blowing concert experience ever recorded for posterity. I’m sure you’ll see many recommendations for excerpted pieces from it, but you really can’t lose with any of it, and all 2.5 hours are sheer, majestic beauty (including “High Hopes”, with its bell tolls delivered on a genuine bell, and the sound and visuals even more goosebump-inducing). Welcome to Pink Floyd universe. 🥰

Next year this album turns 30 and it hasnt aged a day. I was in college when this came out and on the day the album was released I was in tears because I knew deep down this would be their last record. Got to see them live on the Pulse tour afterwards, and its still one of the highlights of my life.

Just found your channel, love it, LOVE you. I enjoy watching youngsters (I'm 70) find the great music I grew up with, and have be enjoying for 55+ years. Please react to Pink Floyd Pulse live concert "Comfortably Numb". There are only 2 rules. 1) No matter how much the music moves you DO NOT CLOSE YOUR EYES!! The light show is AMAZING!! 2) NEVER, NEVER, AND I MEAN NEVER INTERRUPT A DAVID GILMORE GUITAR SOLO!! Have fun, and keep up the good work. You'll thank me for this.

I think this song is about vunerability. The Uk has a history of colonialism the division bell carried could represent the guilt of generation trauma from war. Even more, the lonely man a reflection on patriarchy. how world is divided through a need for survival. but only vulnerability can bring us together as a humane race. Also, I would say that history of racism in the music industry has a tendency to over hyper-masculinate African American culture. This song speaks to a place that transcends those stereotypes.

Pink Floyd's band members have for the most part not spoken much about the meaning of their songs but have allowed their listeners to determine the meaning for themselves so as to suit them and their experiences. If you'll notice the accompanying video is rather random.
