I've commented on basically all of your TooL videos. I became a TooL fan my freshman year in college about 20 years ago (yikes..). I'd never listened to them....and one of the students did his paper on TooL. We all had to present/read our papers in front of the class....and he went on to explain how it was difficult to put into words why he liked them so much. He repeated one of the most commonly shared sentiments that we TooL fans have.....which is that you don't just listen to TooLs music.....you experience it. At one point in his speech....he started softly crying as he explained the band....the music.... I knew at that point....at the very least....I needed to listen to this. TooL has been my favorite band since like a week after that. They are my favorite band.....I have a second favorite band....and second place isn't even remotely close to TooL. It is just an absolute pleasure and honor to watch a genius at their craft. Glad you're enjoying them. It's our pleasure to get to witness someone else experience it for the first time. We all know what you're going through.

Definitely one of their best in my opinion! That breakdown starting in the middle of the song (splitting it right in two, even! And that's intentional, it starts exactly halfway through the song!) is crazy. A few other big ones you still have to hear are "H.", "Eulogy", "Prison Sex", and either "Opiate" or "Opiate2" (Opiate2 is a recent remake of the original Opiate from 30 years ago I think? They're both great though, but I do prefer the new one, so whichever you'd prefer or both even would be awesome!

Nice to hear ppl acknowledge Maynard’s amazing melody choices You gotta think, they’re changing time signatures every 25 seconds or so in their songs, so not only is it even harder to create an amazing melody and find that chord key signature and scale to play with, he also does it to where it’s so unconventional and yet perfectly rhythmic Incredible band, and awesome to see someone admit This isn’t their typical genre choice, yet now they’re favorite band lol

The best instrumental depiction of the great flood in any media. Starts with the light drizzle of the toms, which is getting more frequent and heavier. Then the guitar comes in like storm clouds getting thicker. And when the instrumental gets to the full swing of the storm, in comes Maynard with the "fight.. over..." part, with cadence reminding lightning strikes, listing all the things humanity is getting drowned for. And the storm lasts pretty much till the end of the song, where it gets accentuated by the tone you would imagine, when looking at a sunset over the waves of a calm ocean. What has always set Tool apart from other bands for me, was the ability to express with their music, much much more than just sound.
