She introduced me to so many bands I listen to all the time and I attribute my wide variety of musical tastes to her. Give it up to Maynard for being so accessible and still going strong into his 60's! 😮 Bert did a great job interviewing him more so like a friend then a Podcaster/comedian. Maynard has such a cool demeanor and smooth talking voice. Minus his musical voice he seems like he never argues or yells at anyone even when it's necessary. He more or less just kills you with intelligent sarcastic venom. Hence must be extremely difficult to argue with someone like him 😅 this interview definitely shows the humor of Maynard and his desire to be more of a comedian then a rock star. I can definitely see the lure of his character and how he must have a lot of genuine friends in all types of circles. Thanks for a great conversation guys 🤙🏼♥️

Bert - dude - this was an exceptional interview. Maybe Maynard is mellowing out as he hit the sixty year mark because I have never seen him this at ease with someone completely geeking out on him. Despite some awkward moments, you were able to turn these moments into gems and get some great responses out of MJK. Also, Bert’s adoration was very genuine and vulnerable and I think Maynard sensed that.

Sitting on my knees on top of the engine drilling out 8 cylinders and tapping and loctite all the threads for the inserts😂 it sucked but I needed the truck ready for a trip from WI to Lake Havasu City AZ for winter, and also replace the gas tank in the truck, was allot of work but I did it all myself. MJK is one of those rare people who, despite having no public agenda, has such a polarized appeal - even among tool fans lol. At the same time though, he does everything with so much curation and intention, you do have to wonder how much of his outward appearance as a person is similarly curated. Everybody does it somewhat, obviously, so it's not as if im suggesting any unique level of artifice. Ive just said so much, yet so little... 🤔🧐

Yes, and it shows Bert is full of shit about loving Maynard's music! Puscifer's Money Shot which has the song Grand Canyon on it came out in 2015. Wouldn't anyone who was such a massive fan have heard it by 2024?

Thank you *Both* for a glimpse into each of your absolutely Incredible and *Beautiful* minds! I can't say I have seen Tool, Puscifer, or A Perfect Circle perform live, but I listened those bands all through high school, college, and to the present day. I can at least say that I have seen Bert Kreischer perform live in Tucson once- and it was so fun! As well as enjoyed the podcasts, Netflix released specials, and The Machine movie. Please keep being Awesome people that are *Relatable*!

I always say this on every Maynard related video, but Ill say it again. My best friend in high school's Dad was college sweethearts with Maynard's Mom. They remained friends up until her sad passing. Maynard even came with his Mom to our hometown in Ohio to meet my friend and his Dad. I was not invited because Maynard didnt want a bunch of high school Tool fans showing up.

That was more Adam's thing, if I understand correctly. He was and still is the visual guy for Tool other than Alex Grey. If he hadn't ripped them off/made an homage and also had Kurt not named dropped them by bitching and complaining about it, then I may not have ever discovered the amazing works of The Quay Brothers or Jan Svankmajer. So I see it as a win. I also still love the old music videos for Undertow, especially "Prison S*x". I was lucky enough to catch the few times they allowed it to air on MTV before pulling it for being "too disturbing for viewers" along with "Mr. Krinkle" by Primus. Both of them really changed the way that I heard music and saw art. Good times!
