A nice adventure and a good learning experience; I'm guessing there are parts of the route you would avoid if returning, but most of it looked enjoyable. Finding new routes close to home becomes ever more difficult and therefore satisfying when it works out.

Just come across your channel and realised I think I saw you out riding this on the day ! I would have been up at loch humphry/slacks trig point on my MTB though doing the downhill trails! My local haunt also. I prefer doing that loop the other way though.

Thanks for this. I see those hill often but haven't ventured into them yet. But I think I'll be taking the MTB with nobbly tires when I do. And don't worry about the pronunciation because you are guaranteed to be wrong. I'll look at some of those place names and try and pronounce them as I think the Gaelic would sound and then find that the Glaswegians say it differently. Take Balloch (by Loch Lomond) and Balloch (near Inverness); both said differently and I always get it the wrong way around regardless of where I am!

My local hills! I've been riding MTBs up there wince the mid 90s. I was keen to see your descent off Cochno Hill to the Greenside on your gravel bike. That would have been exciting, I bet!

Exciting isn't the word I would have used - slow and scary more like it 😄

Great video? Can you download a gps file of the route on Komoot?

I think you need the premium version to get the GPX file. You should be able to duplicate it to your profile and sync to your device on the free version I think. Failing that, you can grab all the GPX files for the region for a quid on my buymeacoffee page. Hope that helps 👍
