Senayan (Cool urban forest, convenient for walks, sports centers such as stadiums) 4. Sudirman Thamrin street 5. Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) 6. Dufan 7. Ancol 8. SCBD street 9. Visit Istiqlal Mosque and Cathedral in across from the mosque 10. Tiger museum (Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara) 11. Sea world Indonesia 12. Jakarta Aquarium 13. Pantai Indah Kapuk 2/PIK 2 (there are beaches, Chinatown, lots of places you can visit)

As he is just walking around most of those are awful, especially TMII, it's a fake packaged presentation of culture. Tourists have better experiences walking around randomly like he did and enjoying random interactions and seeing daily life on small streets. Most of those you mentioned are overcrowded tourist traps and really kinda not suitable unless you like walking for miles and baking in the sun. There's no real beaches at PIK, just restos. Kota Tua at night is ok.

Hi Zane, August 17th will be Indonesian Independence day. There will be a lot of festivities around National Monument, usually there will be formal ceremony, marches, air show etc. Will be interesting for you if you going back to Jakarta. But I'll suggest you to be In Yogyakarta for around August 17th, they have interesting culture for celebrating the Independence day.

Make sure you use online taxi like Gojek or Grab when traveling in Jakarta or other areas in Indonesia, they're much cheaper than conventional taxi, also you can choose what you wanna ride, they have car and motorbike services, but motorbikes are usually a few dollars cheaper than a car

12:41 that doubles decker bus is a tour bus, that you can get on for free. There are few routes for that bus that run tues-sunday (if I'm not mistaken) and outside rush hour . If you see bus stop with City Tour sign, those tour busses stop there. PS: don't jaywalk on that road, major roads like Medan Merdeka (around monas), Thamrin, Sudirman, Block M and others do have proper crossing with lights that you can press if you want to cross and it will be red light for vehicles
