Larissa, Kolkata is a place for all, but not everyone likes the city. It has its own rustic feel to it. I am glad that you covered that rustic feel with simplicity and not stayed in an overly high priced place and ate only on fine dining restaurants. Now, I don't have to exaggerate on the fact I think, that I am an ardent fan of yours and it gives me deep joy that you visited my city. also it is Kumortuli (the T is pronounced as Tram) - as in a toli (neighbourhood) of Kumors (potters) The Putuls (Dolls) in Putul Bari refer to the statues that decorate its facade - not because the Goras made dolls!! (read this: timesofindia.indiatimes.com/travel/destinations/the-haunting-tale-of-putul-bari-in-kolkata/as66222106.cms) and it is Kobiraji cutlet (supposed to be a mispronunciation of Coverage :-) because of the frilly egg net which surrounds the cutlet!) - again, Kobiraj is what the ayurvedic doctors are known as! and it's pronounced as Floories :-) it is one of the oldest tea rooms in the city - but i do agree it's unnecessarily expensive now (btw they do amazing mushrooms on toast!) Central Kolkata is in the central part of the city! (how can it be in the south?) :P St John's Church is near Lalbazar/Writer's Building area Loved the drawing of Prinsep Ghat! Nosepin looks pretty on you!
