So refreshing to see streets that are well kept and respectful, reasonable car honking, chill shop keepers and citizens that mind their own business, nor any witches trying to scam you while casting a spell on your life. So happy the India series is over.

if you go to himalayan states of India, it is similar to Nepal. Streets are cleaner, people are respectful and there is some kind of personal space.

Yes Nepal streets are cleaner and better maintained than those in India. I had not travelled extensively inside nepal but had ventured into its border areas from.West Bengal and I liked it. Moreover, similar cleanliness and vibes exist in most other himalayan regions and in North East India
@aa6eheia1564 ай бұрын
@@ABO-Destiny but highways in hills and mountain regions of India are better than in Nepal because of security concern in India-China border. Indian military needs to supply military personnel and equipments to China border regularly so the Himalayan roads there are prioritized. But in Nepal, such highways to mountain borders aren't prioritized much

Most tourists usually go to not so appealing areas of Kathmandu and eat at hole in the wall places. This was refreshing to see. If you walk a few blocks you will arrive at Durbar Marg, where the well off locals hang out, you might enjoy that🙃 also plenty of posh restaurants and cafes to try. Enjoy your trip!

Nepal is definitely amazing. The people in general are so friendly and peaceful except for in Thamel where you find lots of everything. Kathmandu is good for 5 days max. Lots of great things to do there. Pokhara is definitely way more laid-back and very quiet overall. The Annapurna mountain range is seen from Pokhara. Do a three-day trek if you like trekking. Plenty of trekking offices there in Pokhara at Lakeside. You said you're not fit. I hear ya'. I was there for 2 months. I'll definitely go back in some years.

I'm a 71 yo solo traveler planning to come to Nepal in November. You mentioned taking something when you were in India and you didn't get sick. What was it? Did the shower in your DOM HIMALAYA hotel have a recessed floor and curtain so the rest of the bathroom and floor didn't get wet? I take Jarrow saccharomyces boulardii - a probiotic which coats your colon and makes it difficult for e-coli to penetrate.
@zanetravel4 ай бұрын
Pudin Hara is what I took. You can get it at any pharmacy there. I mostly ate at quality restaurants and avoided street food so I think that was the major factor. Most of the hotels over here do not have recessed floors. Thanks for watching!
@magicbobNJ4 ай бұрын
@@zanetravel Thank you. Pudin Hara is what you took in India and also available in Nepal? No recessed floor - you were referring to the showers? So the entire bathroom floor gets wet from the water flow? I started to slip in a wet shower in Hanoi and then I thought if I were to have fallen and hurt myself, no one would discover me until check out time - a very scary thought. How do you deal with the toilet and the floor always being wet? I noticed in Nepal almost all the reasonably priced hotels all have these wet showers.

@zanetravel Some airlines are stricter than others, and will apply the rules to the gram! Others won't even bother weighing your carry-on, and others are happy just to sight-check it to make sure it's not too big. Some won't allow any carry-on that won't fit into the frame at the gate. I'm afraid it's just the luck of the draw, and one of the stressful joys of travelling by air! 😄
