Before y'all ask - I had to cut Into The New World in the title because it would have been too long otherwise LOL. Also yeah, here it finally is! It's been a longtime coming, and with their comeback we are finally checking out Girls' Generation! An iconic debut, an extremely catchy song, an absolute heater and one of the earliest girl crush songs, and a comeback that even makes me a little emotional despite just now listening to them for the first time. Truly one of the most iconic K-Pop artists, and I am very excited to check out more of them in the future! Maybe such as tomorrow with their 7th Full Album? 👀 Also, sorry if there's a buzzing sound here and there, thats my fan that I NEED to be fully baked in this heat, sorry 🥵

SNSD debuted when BOY GROUPS dominated the kpop industry, hence they were given the group name “Girls’ Generation” and yes, they lived up to their name, bagged awards left and right against big boy groups before and they became the blueprint of most girl groups now adays. SNSD, really has a big contribution to what kpop industry is now. My OG Queens, you will be forever1 indeed. Thank you for this genuine reaction, hope to see more of SNSD reaction in the future.

I didn't see them until 2010, and I was introduced to them by the Japanese K-pop fans, but I instantly became an SNSD fan. I tracked down everything they had already released, both music and just entertainment shows I could find (their fan channel was a big help with that). And I've been a major Sone ever since. yes you're right if now TWICE /BLACKPINK or RED VELVET are the biggest GG today SNSD are the biggest GG of the last decade period even if they also got rivals like KARA or T-ARA they dominated the GG category for 10 years winning all awards possible and saling a enormous amoung of albums .now they're like LEGEND the only one GG in activity after 15 years of career .i don't think than BLACKPINK or even TWICE can reach that .they're discographie is phenomenal and most of kpop GG still cover they're songs they're role model for more than 80% of the GG in kpop history .

Fifteen years together! They are timeless. GG started the trend for large girl groups. Please check out the album; gorgeous vocals. GG Forever1, GG Forever. Started in 2007 at ages 16 and 17, they are now 31 and 32. Amazing💖

One thing I like about SNSD is that they maintain that duality-they do the cute, fun songs AND the “stomp on your face” girl-crush songs. “Oh!” and “Run Devil Run” kind of epitomise that since their videos tie together. The boys is produced by an American producer Teddy Railey which in the intro of this song they "TRX" point to the producer. It has an english version try to listen. They also become a guest of kelly show and some American show.

Fun fact they where popular in 2007/08 with multipe hits including intw, girls generation, kissing you all from there debut studio album, but it wasent till they hit it big with Gee when they gained massive momentum and claimed the top spot of being the biggest girl group in K-pop during that time. Like quite literally blasted to the top, gee went number 1 and become best song of the decade in Korea in the last year of the decade, there only true rivals during that time was wonder girls, brown eyed girls and Kara matching them with there big hits nobody, abracadabra and honey. 2ne1, Tara and FX (there own sistar group) would debut in 2009, sistar and miss a would debut in 2010 and make for good competition in snsds later years but during 2007/08/09 these 4 girl groups ruled K-pop at that time and broke down boundaries that not alot of girl groups could before hand espically at a time where it was the market for K-pop was geared towards more boy groups then anything. SNSD in particular would carry out the forgoing of larger K-pop groups in K-pop and make it a trend for larger groups to become a thing, SNSD would also pioneer photo cards and make them mainstream in K-pop merch.

Really 1st time? they've been around for 15 years! Taeyeon was 18 years old at debut. The paper airplane in ITNW is the iconic paper plane they have a song about in Forever1 album.

Girls Generation are the template for a huge amount of Kpop GG's including Twice. They opened the door for other GG's by being the first GG to challenge boy groups and out perform them. Still the only GG to win Album of the year at the Golden Disc Award.

Hi! Thanks for doing this reaction. JYP was definitely influenced by SNSD/GG when forming TWICE. Many of the TWICE members even cite SNSD/GG as big influences on their careers before their debuts. Gee was also influential for the fashion style of the time. Please check out their other title tracks, I promise there is so much variety there that you'll definitely find something you'll like! Into the new world has actually been sung in multiple protests in south korea from student to lgbt+ as a way to show unity and as a way to say "we'll get through the bad times together and have a brighter future". There's a video of a protest of students from Ewha students, ewha is an all women college, singing the song before the police went forward with a crackdown of the protest in 2016. The girls were protesting the actions of the head of the college and the sexism still present in the college.

Taeyeon at 15 was in on a veteran singer album and her coach, The One, so yeah even young Taeyeon got massive potential and it was her Ost that got a massive hit first before Gee blew up its fitting that in INTW she was on the plane that flew in the end like how she's the one carrying SNSD musically during the group's hiatus.

They did not demote Yoona for her visual role, Hyo for her main dancer role, Seo for her maknae, pride role.. only Taeyeon with her leader role and its always people like you bringing up Taeyeon stepping down before when the reason was still like this. The members are too bull headed for her so she wanted to step down. When she got the news of her being the leader before she was so happy only for the members to bite her ankle every time and still today on their 15th anniv, glad shes doing so well solo and even have her own achievements outside of this group.

If u watch their clips, u will see how Taeyeon is a leader who will let her members do their own things, then unite it as the last person who talks. She has always been like that. And did they demote her from her main vocal role ?
