Sang my first solo over 30 years ago. Although I received a full standing ovation with applause and whistles to boot, I ran back stage, rolled myself inside of a spare stage curtain, and wept bitterly from being incredibly frightened. I wasn't aware back then that I'm extremely sensitive to sounds. Today, I only work very long hours and sleep. Haha! 😄 I might look into singing again someday, especially now that I've got 3 lovely grandchildren. Who knows what the future holds.

Well done, young Casper. I started playing at the same age as you. I played a LOT. You became much better in 2 years than I have in 51 years. What the @#$$ happened to me? I guess I had too many hobbies and interests. ;) Now I have arthritis and can barely hold the neck. But that's ok. The guitar has given me an immense amount of joy over the decades and I feel blessed to have had so many years playing. Thanks for posting this early performance.

This made me think back to when I'd been playing for about 2 years. I practiced for hours every day, and now I know the difference between the 2 of us Casper. Just one little word, really...talent. you are loaded with it. Me, not so much. Well done sir, well done.

Wow, that's really great for only having played acoustic for a couple years. I wish I had progressed that quickly. You definitely have a natural gift for coming up with nice melodies.

@CasperEsmann oh wow! I will have to look into that.... incidentally, fwiw, I've started trying to learn pedal steel guitar...it's an amazingly deep learning curve but the sounds you can create and recreate in the country genre grab hold of my heart n soul. Not to mention the wide open possibilities in other genres...yu ought check it out if you have any interest...I wish I would've started decades ago! Buts it's all meant to be as it is

Hi Casper, I wanted to share some constructive feedback with you, and please know that my intention is not to hurt you but to help you improve. I've been a long-time listener of your videos, and I've noticed something I'd like to discuss. In my opinion, your 2009 piece sounds much better than your current ones. Let me explain why I feel this way. This performance, while not flawless, was filled with a genuine passion that truly shone through your guitar playing. However, in your recent videos, I've noticed an abundance of reverb and other effects that, in my view, sometimes tends to make the sound washed out and diminish the natural beauty of your playing. I genuinely believe that if you dial back the effects and let your guitar's raw talent take center stage, while also using clearer video titles (like using the actual song names), your current videos would become even more captivating. Your undeniable talent and passion deserve to be showcased in an authentic and unfiltered manner. Keep up the great work, Casper!
