The instrument at the beginning is a traditional instrument called a kobyz. One of the MANY great things about Dimash his his regular use of traditional Kazakh elements and instruments in his performances. He also knows exactly how to use backup vocals to perfectly compliment his performance. His use of the choral both in this song and in "Ave Maria" are superb.
