Whoa! thanks for the great video, Lucas. I'm 74 now, can't ski anymore, so live vicariously through your lenses. Sugar Bowl and Squaw (Palisades) were my home bases almost 50 years ago because I loved the "gnarly" terrain as you say nowadays. Lift tickets were half price on Wednesdays so we drove up and paid $6 for a whole day of Sugar Bowl magic. Right across the highway was Donner Ski Ranch and we could stay in the sleeping bag dorms for $5 a night, complete with a hot shower. Also enjoyed your video of KT-22 and Siberia at Squaw/Palisades. Great life you're living; thanks for sharing it.

Had a top 5 ski day at Sugar bowl. Met a local and was shown all the goods. So many gnarly drops, cliffs and chutes everywhere off Lincoln. The Palisades at Sugar Bowl when they are open is probably the most gnarly terrain in Tahoe. Alaska style spines with mandatory 25 ft+ airs. This is a resort to play it safe otherwise your going off some cliffs. Nice work man!

Sugar Bowl is one of my favorite mountains in Tahoe but I haven't been in years. Mt Rose is another small Tahoe local resort that is close to my house so I ski mostly there. Today at Mt Rose they opened the Chutes for the first time all year. Ski Patrol came to open the gate to the Chutes and for the first time they asked for someone with a beacon to go first and then they let people go in one at a time. They said it was very dangerous but they've been bombing it for a few days. I was the second one in and it was amazing. Steep and deep!! Your legs must be killing by now. Sugar Bowl is a super underrated mountain. Grew up skiing here and have a family place about 5 mins down the road. It tends to get overshadowed by the likes of Palisades and Alpine. I see that this was posted a few hours ago so you may have come up with a fix. Suggestion. Get a length of all thread close to the dia. of the rod that broke. Bend an ell at either end of the rod who’s length matches the pivot points. Pull the two allen’s and put the ends facing out through the two pivot points. You may need some washers to space the pivots out a bit to allow movement. Use two nyloc bolts on the threaded ends to hold all thread to pivots. Re-install allen’s. This should work and last/hold up a lot better than original feeble design.

Good cinematography and editing. Tahoe can definitely be advanced with stuff that will kill you so you have to just take it easy and just have fun and remember there's always the backcountry!!! I hope to do a backcountry ride some day. Thanks again. And I hooked you up with CW for your next time in town if you want.

No freeway near enough to hear but you definitely hear the train horn a couple times a day. After years of skiing Sierra at Tahoe I'm starting to fall in love with sugarbowl.

just replace the clevis with a metal clevis and use a nut on the all thread to lock in the clevis.
