We Dominicans call the bobby pin thing a "tubi". It's some sort of protective way to keep your hair straight at home. We usually do it after the hair has been straightened. We put on "redecillas" (like fishnets used for plopping) and remove the bobby pins, so they don't leave marks on the hair (and you can sleep with the tubi). Best hack ever 👌🏽

Penny try using an oil next time so it can be a little shiny and not dry your hair out. Wrap it at night when it’s dry and and wrap it with a satin scarf. Either way you look pretty with straight or curly hair!

I straightened my hair last year for the first time in over 13 years. When I walked in my bf was like 😳 It took him a minute to adjust, the only thing he loves about it is that he can play with my hair, he said it looks good but he says I'm his curly girl. So he feels like I'm me curly, which is what I feel too. but it's fun to change things up once in a while.

in Spanish (or Spain at least) this method is what they call toga and it was pretty common back in the day! did you use a leave-in? if not, that could give the hair a little withght and extra shine :) looks great! you can rock any style

Thats what we call in Puerto Rico Dubi. We usually do it to make the “blowout” last longer. Some of us do it to to straighten our hair without heat like you did but it usually looks better when the hair is not very curly or when its fine hair. I have done it and now that I usually wear my hair curly, I don’t have the same results compared to before. But its still a great alternative to heat tools. I loved how your hair came out though and I also love your beautiful long hair curly😍

it took me YEARS to love my curls, in elementary school girls either had braids or naturally straight hair. i was pretty much the only girl that wore her hair naturally. I straightened it a lot in elementary and so finally ow I love my girls so much and when i flat iron my hair i end up wetting and washing it like 3 days after cause I miss my curls so much. LOL
