My FIRST time visiting THE HIGHLANDS with Rabbie's (Loch Ness, Glencoe, Pitlochry, Highland Coo's)

Hi everyone!
In this video, I will take you with me on my first trip to the Highlands in Scotland. We booked a tour with Rabbie's and departed near Waverly station at 7.45 am.
Our first stop was at Pitlochry, a picturesque small village. You can find several cute local shops, beautiful inns and Christmas shops. Unfortunately, these were closed on Sunday morning.
Then our trip continued and we drove all the way to Loch Ness. We could have taken a trip on the cruise, but we decided to explore Fort Augustus by foot. Don't expect to find a fort at Fort Augustus, because there isn't one haha.
Then, my favorite part of the entire day started: we were on our way to the stunning Glencoe. Our first stop was at the visitor center, where you can find a lot of information about Glencoe's history and its area, as well as an original Turf House, which gives you an impression of what the life of Highland families looked like back in the days.
After this short stop, our bus driver took us to some breathtaking landscapes where we were able to enjoy the rough, but also serene nature of Glencoe.
Because of the fog, it had a very mysterious touch. It almost felt as if you were in a movie! It definitely gave us some Outlander vibes.
On our way back to Edinburgh, we saw two Highland Coo's, waterfalls and had a quick view on the Kelpies statues.
We arrived in Edinburgh at 8pm.
I highly recommend this tour with Rabbie's.

Agree with you re Loch Ness. Live near Glasgow, and there are more scenic Lochs on our doorstep, for example Loch Lomond and Loch Eck

Hi is there a tour which goes from Edinburgh to lochness and back without having to do glencoe etc. I mean a 12 hour tour is too much😅. So if one wanted to just do Edinburgh-inverness-lochness-edinburgh is it possible?

Hi there! I can imagine that a 12 hour long tour might be too exhausting. I definitely was tired at the end of the day, but luckily the trip was in a small touring car with very comfortable seats, which makes the long trip a little easier 😊 I’m not sure whether Rabbie’s provides tours only to Loch Ness and back, but if I may be completely honest with you, it was nice to visit Loch Ness, but I had completely different expectations from it. Basically it’s just loch (like there are so many in Scotland). Glencoe on the other hand is out of this world. I’ve never seen such rough and beautiful nature in my life. So in my opinion, I would prefer to visit Glencoe instead of Loch Ness, but that’s all based on my personal interests 😊 There’s also another tour operator in Edinburgh. I think they’re called Timberbush. Maybe they provide tours only to Loch Ness and back. Have a wonderful time!

Absolutely! I did 3 tours with Rabbie’s and all of them were great. You will visit many different places in a smaller touring car with very comfortable seats, so even when the trip is quite long (like my highlands trip), it’s very comfortable. And the guides are amazing. They give lots of interesting information about the Scottish culture and history. I’ll go back in October and I will definitely book another trip with them 😊 What trip are you thinking about? I hope you will have lots of fun!
