The first cour is probably my favorite in TYBW anime version of this arc. Coming back after 10 year hiatus and the level of work with the environment, details, animation is on so high lvl and it feels like the most emotional and cool thing for me personally. It was even cooler than in season 1.

A few things to mention (I'm currently 4 episodes into his reaction so I dunno if any of the other comments mention those things but the adaptation for the TYBW arc in the anime is completely uncensored unlike the previous arcs. Even including Yoruichi's and Soifon's Onmitsukidō commander outfit (Which previously had multiple areas covered up with a white undershirt to make it less revealing). Other than that there were generally a few changes that were mistakes on the anime's side. Ichigo's Getsuga for example had always been yellow in the manga and Rangiku's hair had also always been blonde (but due to an error, they made her hair more orange in the anime). And in the scene where Masaki was floating towards that hollow and Isshin eventually came to save her, she wasn't glowing and she was fully exposed in the manga (You even got a nip shot)

I love that the 10 year old joke of bamkai/zanpakutou being a pp reference still works in TYBW... they talked about how small Yamamot's bankai was and it also looks scorched and old, like an old man's pp... while Kenpachi has a huge pp cleaver...
