It's definitely a master class of suspense because, since there are no good guys and bad guys, the games can really go to anyone, so it focuses on what the game means for anyone playing it and how they'll deal with a win or loss.

Hinata and his serious expressions, especially his eyes, is indeed scary. Befitting to the mascot of his highschool. He's cute as a character. But he's like Killua that if only this is not a sports anime, Hinata could pass as a lead character that could look like a villain.

And this is just first season... The animation gets better and better each season. And with it hype for each season increase as well. It really is great anime. Sport is my favourite genre of all. It almost never disappoints me. My favourite anime of all time is Hajime no Ippo. But there is many you should give it a try one day. Like Yowamushi Pedal, Megalo Box, Kuroko no Basuke. Captain Tsubasa, Diamond no Ace, Eyeshield 21. And many, many more. But Haikyuu is definitelly one of the best so far.

What I love about Haikyuu is that during a match we get to see the opposite team's perspective. The spotlight doesn't just stay on the main characters but it expands to the other characters and I love that.
