Easily the most relatable painting video on youtube! I feel a lot of warhammer youtube forget what it feels like to only have some basic paints/equipment and sit for hours trying to get the results you want . highly rate the army painter big sets if you do get into it, as well as the speedpaint sets. much prefer the dropper bottles as a newbie myself. And a bit cheaper than vallejo

Nice one James, I find myself in exactly the same situation as you - recently bought the start collecting slaves to darkness box set after around a 16 year break - I blame Squidmar too. Will be interesting to follow along and see how you progress alongside me - my first 3 miniatures looked like garbage but slowly getting the hang of it again

Thanks. I'll try to do another update at some point, I got a lot going on for the rest of the year so I am not sure when I can do a follow up to this (I do have plans). Would be fun to compare after a while though. Even more interesting to see how well I do when the camera isn't in the way too.

I would recommend to actually make sure you're painting is a little worse on infantry models necron warriors normal space Marines normal orc boys so on and so forth simply because normally these guys come in squads of 10 20 maybe even 30 so doing things like edge highlighting can sometimes not be worth it because the sun will explode before you're done with all of them I would recommend saving all that time to paint things like heroes guys that look better have a cooler stance and sink most of your time into them and I would also recommend looking into contrast paints they're hard to get used to expensive but they cut down your time of painting by a lot it's basically shade but normal paint meaning a guy that could take you a 3 hours to paint takes 40 minutes to an hour which is very low
