im so glad youtube recommended your video to me, the thing you said about English resonates with me a lot, im Slavic but i study in English, i read in English a lot and at times i feel like my vocabulary and general language knowledge is far more developed in English. your video is so cozy and you have such a charming soft voice! can’t wait to see more of what you are going to post ❤

same here, I'm German but work, read and watch TV only in english since i was 18, now i'm 49. 2 years ago I found out i'm autistic and in english i speak more fluently than in german where my autism is more apparent, so english is a masking mechanism for me that enabled me to have a very successful career 😊

Hi! This is my first time surfing on your end of the information superhighway I like what I see thus far! I must say that it is quite unusual to hear someone such as yourself talk of feeling more at home, more comfortable so to speak in a foreign tongue, which in this case is English. Perhaps the scholar Edward Said was on to something when he wrote his book Cultural Imperialism. In Montreal where I study, there is much moral panic about the imminent spectre of a vanishing French cultural heritage (language) amid an encroaching sea of Anglophone speakers, a lingering holdover of British imperialism. One would think Britain having a strong French cultural connection vis-a-vis the Norman invasion of 1066 would make the act of speaking French seem more congruous to the social milieu. Well, I guess you learn something new everyday 🙂But then again, we are talking about Oxford University here.

@@joelharris4399 i think for me it’s an interesting thing particularly about writing. i would say i feel like i lack more vocabulary in french than i do english, because french is more complex. but i know i’m home when i’m speaking french. but i also think it comes from my studies, learning in english means i gravitate towards it more often!! ☺️☺️
