At 57 years old, I had begun to feel everything "new" was behind me. But last year I launched a part-time business -- so not like me. Then around Christmas I stumbled onto The Unexpected Gypsy. Now I'm actually painting and art journaling. I don't know anything about art. I can't even draw. But I'm doing it. And I'm learning about art and colors and myself and so much more. I´m an English as a Foreign Language teacher and found myself in a similar situation, I´ve taken all my classes online and I´m paying my bills too. You know, I found your channel a few months ago. Not sure when exactly it was (I kinda get lost in linear time 😁), but it was at a moment of my life where I gave up on art (fine arts), and decided that I should just stop painting and creating if it wasn't for money (I'm a designer, so I do live by creating but in a different way). You helped me see art with a new light. I thought I lost my passion for it, but in reality, I simply didn't know how to keep that practice for myself and how to connect with myself enough to paint, collage, draw, play. So, thank you for that. As always a fantastic video. I know how hard the past year has been. I feel it. After my children left home I became a full time artist. I was the director of an art gallery with approx. 40 artists. On top of that, my husband worked out of town which I became very used to being able to paint and create (which we all know artists are kind of solitary beings) whenever I liked. Then came the lockdown... the Gallery closed, my husband's job was over and he was old enough to retire and I was home ALL the time as was my husband. I have found it so hard to be inspired and get into any kind of rhythm. Hopefully when things open back up completely I'll get my groove back. Until then thank you for sharing.

Wendy, I am now 56, have been art journaling for about 10 years or so, and have a passion for uplifting and inspiring quotes which I generally weave into my art works. I have been watching your videos for a while now, and you are truly an inspiration. This particular video feels like it was made for me as I have been soul searching for some time. Wendy. I loved your Art work today that pinkish flower over the dark background..m I too have had a lazy Week. It was Kind of mislow. Nothing much happened aparently.... But internally there was a click, i believe It be a result of a sketch drawing of a Human figure where I wrote on, the parts of It and related them to what they mean spiritually... And It lit-up just like a Christmas tree .....when you first turn on its lights as you finish decorating it... It as given me a complete profound explanación of why so Many zones if my little body have been aching.. as well as receiving each spiritual connection as a hint of the whys i have gone through so much suffering for so long It IS curious because there was no great thing about the drawing from an artística point of viene. But the fact if taking the time to dedicate my attention and painting effortsnti complete the human shape and place the spiritual meaning on each parte... Hace me the whole picture.of what has ti ve changed so.i can definitely move out of these long years of trying so.many different things and yet not.moving out if the.illness pattern one second ir at least one inch....

I've been watching your videos for about 7 months and wish I had found them sooner. I was working and up until 3 weeks ago, hD a full time job. I wasnt happy with it but it paid the bills. I painted in my spare time.. maybe once a month. I wanted to paint or sketch more but after work.. I didnt have much to give to anything or anyone. I've never though I was good enough, however people are always commenting on my art. And each to their own. I wish I knew how does a person believe they're good enough?

It has been your attention motor as well as your intention Focus, working out of your " catterpillar clothes ", into your grown and strong wings of the "Art Butterfly ", you actually are. I would say, that luck was on your side.. as everything you seré sensing and had,been doing fell into Sync, including your dedicating less Hours to the half time, job .and more of those to, what you wanted to achieve.. work, live and enjoy. Been your internal call. a full time mature.artist. This Also includes your decisión of giving Up your previos studio to, be surprised by a much more beautiful and stimulating one. I started watching your videos early on and loved to watch you paint and make things. I love hearing about your life and growth and light. But I also miss watching you create. I only recently discovered your KZbin and Instagram pages and I love how you talk about your art, experiences etc. I'm a fellow Brit and I started making to sell again for the first time in 6 years. I'm a self taught needle felter now even if I love to dabble in all kinds of arts and crafts and got a degree in applied arts. But I also work in my local supermarket it pays my bills and for craft supplies (now I'm wittering on abit hehe ☺️). Thank you. I wish I found this video 2 years ago (it's May 2023 now). I was an art teacher before but quit because I was mostly unhappy and unable to do my own art. I've also been working as a language teacher at the same time (still teaching), however the future is uncertain in this post-pandemic period. I wonder if it's too late to own up to myself as an artist. Like you say, take baby steps and put yourself out there bit by bit. I admit, I am shy myself (or rather, chicken) but it's all about process and self-discovery I suppose. I hope you will continue on with your journey despite the ups and downs; thank you kindly for keeping us company as well. :)

Oh Wendy you weren't grumpy at all...🤭🤭🤭 Im going back to check on some of your earlier posts. You have done amazingly well in all of the challenges life has thrown your way. I cant believe the UK govt didnt support people during lockdown who lost their jobs due to Covid. We in Australia should think themselves lucky that our federal govt did support people, put a hold on rent rises and put a ban on people getting evicted from rentals because they couldnt pay their rent, they supported businesses which had to close and lots of other ways. I dont know how people in the UK managed with no money coming in. Being on a pension I didnt have that woory anyway and for that I am so glad. Hugs to everyone still struggling. I dont know how I initially came across your site nor do I know how to search for similar sites. They just seem to fall from the sky. I loved that frost on the window scene..very pretty. Anyway now Im waffling...I look forward to listening to you and or watching you while I inturn do my own art and for that I thank you so so much. I thought of trying to sell my own art but couldnt figure out how to do facebook andnot have all my contacts see me..I just wanted to sell art...is that possible??? I found a 5+7 frame for the larger one... for my friend’s BD.. it’s a gray tone and for the smaller one going to decoupage on to a canvas.. have 2.. one stretched and a board canvas... have to look thru my stash to see what else I can find to go w/ it...something rather plain that won’t overwhelm your print!!! Since watching you I have begun doing some art journaling although I have no artistic ability. I was wondering if you are still offering art classes online and if so, would it be appropriate for a beginner ( who draws only stick figures, at best!)?
