Hi Simone, I really enjoyed this video and hearing about how you got started using fountain pens. I am also from Germany (live in the US now), and had to use fountain pens starting in second grade. But what is funny for me is that that to this day, I do not like to write with an ink that's Königsblau or similar to it. That color forever reminds me of school and math and writing those papers in German class. So, now my favorite ink colors tend to be browns, dark greens (oh that Altgoldgrün is amazing!) and dark, dark violets. But I am so grateful that children learn to write with fountain pens in Germany because the writing instrument does help with encouraging a love of writing and beautiful stationery. Fountain pens give me so much joy now in middle age. I just received my first Pilot Custom 823 and LOVE IT! All the best to you, and keep making such wonderful videos :)

Thank you. It seems that my number is somewhere in the low thirties, because I add pens and destash some and it's been quite consistent. I'll see how it develops. Weird how that works.

So fun to hear how you started out with fountain pens. Hooray for fellow early-life adopters! I think hearing you and a number of others talk about grail pens has really helped put certain feelings I've been unable to put into words a lot clearer, and I definitely appreciated hearing you explain how you are feeling about collection limits. 😍❤ And major congrats to you and @lianelikes for organizing such a crazy successful month-long event. I can't imagine how much time and effort it must have taken to get the schedule all sorted out with everyone's different needs and requests. I don't enjoy the frustrations of making a schedule for even a couple of people, let alone 31+ - mad respect! 🎉

Yeeeeeesssssssss - no limits. "The bus is outt control" From the movie Speed, by the way, in case you didn't know. Really like that you included props, so now people can see what pens and inks you are referring too. It helps a lot and makes it more interactive. This was a most fantastic video.

That green gold ink looks amazing, I might have to buy it next... I haven't dipped my toes into the pool of over 100$ pens yet, but I think I have to get the Pilot Custom or the Platinum 3776 one day.

Fun watch. Don't know whether any of us will reach the point of knowing we have enough. "They" are always developing the new to tempt us.

Oddly enough my number of pens has been circling in the low thirties because I sell and acquire pens. So maybe that's a sign ... who knows?!

Thank you for organizing this event and doing everything you’ve done to keep us engaged and organized! Cracked resin - I didn’t realize that’s what the style that I’ve been attracted to lately is called. It’s so pretty 🥹 I can understand the appeal of experiencing different nibs. I like the way you distinguish between having a desire to try a pen vs owning one. It’d be nice if pen libraries were a thing (are they? 😅), where it could be possible to trial a pen for a while before deciding if you want to buy it. I imagine that would be a nightmare to manage logistically, though. 😅

There is something like that in Britain and they were trying to bring it to the US at the SF Pen Show but I'm not sure it is/was successful!

Hey Simone, thank you for your interesting video! One question: which pen do you use in your video (the black one)?

Are you talking about the TWSBI Mini in black? The one I used to write all the replies with? It's a TWSBI Mini in black with a reverse architect nib ground by Kirk Speer of Penrealm.
