I love love fragrances. It's the one thing that you can wear without worrying about trends or sizes and oh how a scent can make a woman feel and the memories it can evoke. I just love them. I have too many to mention but I love them and a man who wears a beautiful fragrance...ahh....It truly is the simple things in life that make you smile. I remember my mother so much whenever I smell Estee Lauder's White Linen. She loved that fragrance. Sometimes I'll go by the counter just to get a whiff. Thanks for sharing all your lovely fragrances with us.

Tammy, I took your list with me today and tried every scent on your list that was available at Sephora. Oh I love your recommendations. I picked up Elizabeth + James Nirvana Black (LOVE IT), Black Opium and Tom Ford Noir. I picked up a few samples and others as gifts. Thank you again for sharing. And please keep teaching. Beautifully described! We must have extremely similar chemistry. Burberry is my daily fragrance too however it now has a close rival, Flowerbomb in the dark purple bottle, not the original. I believe it has blackberry notes. Absolutely fabulous...and yes, sensual! You must try it...

Loved this Tammy! I have worn and loved Burberry Classic and Cashmere Mist. I haves loved Prada d'Iris for years, Angel, Narciso Rodriguez, Patchouli of Rwanda, Voodoo Love from Bourbon French perfumes in NOLA. For me it's all about the warm and sultry dry down. Amber, patchouli, sandalwood. Nothing too sweet. When I was young I wore Chantilly - the guys loved it :). Really enjoying reading what everyone else loves too!

Loved this video soooo much I watched it twice and probably will again!! I bought 13 Tom Ford samples on eBay and I'm glad I did. I only liked two of them, Wild Fig and Cassis (which my husband hates) and Wild Bluebell. I don't wear patchouli oil (husband really hates that one!) but I keep a tiny bottle of it because it takes me back to my hippie-teen-age-years when I was young and happy. I open the cap and it transports me to a place I loved so much. That makes it priceless.

I love some of the fragrances you mentioned, burberry and Tom Ford. I'm also a fan of some very off the wall brands too, like Casual by Paul Sebastian, and Kiss her. But, I'm into some sweet smells, Tease by Parris Hilton and Florence by Tocca. My husband loves to wear Stetson, and it smells really marvelous on him.

I have to say that Burberry Classic is my #1 go to fragrance. I just can't wait to put it on most mornings. The other I love is Suede by Michael Kors. Never heard mention of it from anyone but I really like it too. Will definitely have to sample some of the other ones you've mentioned knowing how much you love the Burberry also. Hi Tammy. Burberry Classic is also one of my favorites along with Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt and Atelier Vanille Insensee and Atelier Orange Sanguine. I have a hard time finding fragrances that don't bother my asthma and give me head aches, so my collection very limited. Loved the video!

I, too, have been wearing the original Burberry for women for many years. I get compliments on it every time I wear it. I also like Burberry Brit. My signature scent, which I have been wearing since I was in my 20's, is Poison. It can be overwhelming, but used sparingly the dry down is magnificent. Black Opium is on my Christmas wish list. 😋

I adore most of the perfumes that you mentioned, Black Opium being my signature scent. Other favourites of mine (that you might like as well) are: Estée Lauder - Sensuous (woody and balsamic, with a slight touch of honey); Olfactive Studio - Ombre Indigo (woody, smoky with leather); Illamasqua - Freak (balsamic, slightly floral, but smoky in the same time). You have a nice collection Tammy! I've accumulated many during the years & wear them according to how I'm feeling or what the occasion is. Back in the day when I was a teenager, the Nina Ricci "Lair Du Temps" was my signature, but it's not a scent I particularly would wear now. LOL! For work I wear mists that are not so strong. When I go out I like Chanel's "Chance" but (only) the "Eau Tendre" which is the one that looks pink I the bottle, the other 3 I don't care for. I was very surprised not to see others mention my favorite scent: Aromatic Elixir. It was Clinique's original scent and the only one they had for a long time. I know they came out with an Aromatics White last year and an Aromatics Black earlier this year, but have not tested either one. I also enjoy Calyx by Prescriptives and Karma by Lush. I just finished a bottle of Karma. I think I enjoy the Karma Kreme almost better than the liquid fragrance. My family tells me they know I have been in a room when they smell Aromatics Elixir, so I guess that would be my signature scent. I also used to wear Knowing by Estee Lauder, but it is impossible to find anymore. Very interesting and fun video, Tammy!

I hope you see this, CMT! My first fave in early 80s was Halston Night (discontinued). Followed by Lauren in late 80s (discontinued). I loved Tresor, but it didn't really represent "me." If you haven't already, please do a video on how/where/when to apply fragrance. What to do about fragrance on clothing. Also, do you change fragrances with the Seasons.

Hi Tammy. I thought this was a great video as I love, love, love wearing fragrance. I also love it when a woman or man breezes past and leaves their fragrance in the air. One of my favourites is Alien by Thierry Mugler - the eau de parfum. I always get compliments when I'm wearing this. I am also considering going for Miss Dior, also in the eau de parfum. Thank you for this great video and refreshing my memory of the lost art of fragrance selection. My evening favorite is Alien by Thierry Mugler. Like another poster, I'm a cancer survivor (Stage 4 Melanoma in lung & brain). Now I'm on lots of medications which have changed my body chemistry therefore certain scents that I loved for years are now funky on me. Instead of whining about it, I consider my new quest an adventure. We seem to have similar taste in fragrances so will seek out your fragrance list. Thank you again, Cheers!!

Enjoyed hearing about your favourites, Tammy. You do so well describing them, i feel lead to follow you! My ultimate daytime favourite I have worn for years is Eternity by Calvin Klein. The Original one is the one I like. Second romantic yet discontinued fragrance I wear is made by Cacharel, it’s ‘Lou, Lou’. It’s a mysterious intoxicating fragrance that’s warm and floral and a little powdery. It will always have a place in my collection. It brought me compliments by males as a evening scent worn out so it turned out to be a crowd pleaser. Memories of wearing it doing work as a fundraiser it started to be a signature scent. The large blue bottle with the red stripe is still available online so I will repurchase it again. Like you my fragrance collection is small but very loved and worn contains a dozen or so. I am open to wearing new fragrances and love watching these types of videos.

I love your video(s)--especially recognizing us as aging women. Sadly, I have been accused of being "heavy handed" with my Flower Bomb and Narciso Rodriguez. Because I use hand sanitizer A LOT, I use the fragrance hand creams constantly, thus, people think I bathe in my perfumes. One day, I hope to make a perfume collection video now that I have amassed more than 127 bottles.

Great video. Loved it. I also use many different frangances, but particularly love the Armani ones for everyday (for instance, Lei/Elle is a must for daily use in autumn) and I also love some of the Bulgari's. My signature frangance however is one that I picked up some 25 years ago, and still love it. It's an autumn/winter parfum, called Samsara, by Guerlain. Have you tried it? You might love it as well, it is right up at your alley (my guess). Have a great weekend and thank you for sharing those great fragances with us.

That was fun! It seems that you and I like a similar type of fragrance. My all time favorite is Borghese di Borghese, which I began wearing back in the late 70's when I was in high school. It is no longer made, but I've managed to squirrel away a couple of bottles. I wear it on special occasions. I have yet to find a contemporary favorite.

First I just have to ask...who would "thumbs down" this video? Tammy is full of great information and delivers in such a heartfelt manner. ??? Fragrance is so dependent on your individual chemistry as she said. I have tried so many and I get compliments on Coco Mademoiselle and especially Jessica McClintock which almost embarrasses me as it's so inexpensive and at Macy's. I definitely agree about Cashmere Mist. It can get overpowering, really quickly. I prefer it when it is in rollerball form. I only put a little on my pulse points. Tom Ford Velvet Orchid is one of my faves. My signature scent is Prada Infusion de Iris.

On my first trip to NYC at the age of 19, I purchased that Burberry perfume. I loved it. I felt so chic buying this perfume in this fabulous city. There wa s agift with purchase.....a HUGE and I do mean HUGE umbrella. There was no way I was leaving my free HUGE Burberry umbrella behind, so I dragged it up on the airplane, proceeding to knock every passenger in the head with it. But I got it home! 20 years later, I still have it, and I still love that perfume. I've purchased many, many bottles.

My Wood Sage and Sea Salt was only $75 at Neiman Marcus, but I get the smaller bottles as I layer. I love spritzing it over my Eud and Bergomot body oil. In summer I love Chanel 19. Old fragrance, but reminds me of good soap...just clean and bright. In winter I love several Joe Malone fragrances layered (haven't had them fade too badly) but I also have a "signature scent" that was created for me 12 years ago at Aroma Workshop. It's called Sallie Ann (of course) and it's a blend of vetiver, patchouli, and burnt orange. Earthy, smoky with a little hint of citrus.

My heavier scents: Lolita Lampicka EDP, Citizen Queen (a lighter Shalimar Initial), Eclix, Coco Mademoiselle, & Joy Forever. Everyday: DKNY Be Delicious Fresh Blossom & Francesca's Indigo Waters. I definitely need to try the Nirvana Black & Burberry. Great video!

I love Shalimar Initial as well. This is an "easy" scent for me to wear whenever I want to feel effortlessly elegant. I also love Garafano by Lorenzo Villoresi (spray lightly and walk through), and Full Incense by Mondale but you have to be in the right mindset and attitude for these or they will wear you instead of the other way around. Lol. Lorenzo Villoresi's Uomo for my husband. These are my fall/winter favorites. Let's revisit this in Spring!

For me the best fragrances are the original Shalimar and Chanel # 5. You are so right that your body determines how a certain scent will work with your body. I always get free samples of all kinds of high end fragrances I do try to use them and some I have had to remove immediately. The Shalimar and Chanel are still the best that work on my skin.

Tammy I am a fragrance hoarder. I have about 97 bottles ranging from high end to low end my top 3 favorites right now are Victoria Beckham intimately beckham (my signature) ots very swnsual and has patchulli sandalwood scent to it. Chanel No 5. and Gucci accenti (which was discontinued in the late 90s) but I buy through vintage shops if I am lucky. My favorite man scent hands down is gucci Guilty. After watching your video I will be acquiring black opium and the Tom Ford velvet. but will obtain samples first. once again, thank you for the great video. I love fragrance it really does make me feel better when I have it on and it also has to fit the mood I am in. I am going to try the Black Opium and the Burberry Classic. My favourite is one I bought in Florence it's by Santa Maria Novella called Angels of Florence smells like Tuscany to me and I still love the original Narciso Rodrigues. You got that right girl! My sister sent me a bunch of perfumes back in 2005. One was that first one and it smells like my Grandma's perfume. I'm not that old. The bottle is pretty so it's still sits on my dresser among the other bottles. LOL But I loved the Jadore she also sent me the BEST.

My favorite is Tova by Tova Borgnine. It has a lot of ingredients in it that you said you like. It is the only fragrance that I have ever repurchased and that I get compliments on every single time I wear it. I get mine from QVC.

You need to try Cashmere Mist in the eau de cologne. That was the original and probably what your husband smelled. It is not as strong. It came out in the early 1990's. The Cashmere lotion the accompanied the Donna Karan perfume was so popular the Cashmere mist Cologne was created. I just bought Tom Ford Noir Femme. You would love it smoky, vanilla, leathery. I love it. It is what I wanted Tobacco Vanilla to smell like.

This was very interesting! I used to collect high end fragrances in my 20's then I had kids and well, that was that for that. Back in the 80's I loved the Shalimar. In the 2000's my signature scent was 'Victoria' by Victoria's Secret. Everyone knew I was in the vicinity if I had that scent on. On me, it was beautiful. They discontinued it in the late 2000's or so and I was heartbroken. I switched to the Victoria's Secret 'Heavenly' and got on quite well with it. I ended up with cancer and from 2009 until about a year ago I was afraid to wear scents - hospitals didn't want you to wear it but I felt so many of the fragrances were synthetic and because my cancer involved my lungs, I didn't want to tax my lungs with chemical based fragrances. I got over that about a year ago and I have so many fragrance samples I think I could go for years. Almost every day I have a new sample on. I want to address the Jo Malone though. I agree they do not last. I have several but my favourite is Grapefruit Cologne. It lasts all day for me and I am a citrus girl at heart. If you want a Jo Malone fragrance that lasts, you need to get the ones in the dark bottles. Today I wore Dark Amber & Ginger Lily. I put on two small spritzes and it was pretty heavy all day long. Beautiful though - did give me a bit of a headache - but still beautiful. Also, my mom isn't well and I remember back in the day she always wore Chanel No 5. I decided I wanted a bottle so a couple of weeks ago I went to the store and smelled it. It smelled nothing like I remember it so they either changed the formula or it was the smell of it on my mom that I remember. I still want to buy a bottle, not sure how a scent like that would play on me. Citrus is nice on me, the dark sensual scents can be hit and miss.

Tova by Tova Borgnine is one of my very favs..its describe has a fresh clean scent and it is ..not heavy or offensive ..always get many complements no matter were I go ..to me its very womanly and sensual...I love fragrances and enjoyed this video ..need to check out some of these ..tfs

Really interesting video. I like Prada amber, which is sweet but suits my skin. for summer, its a perfume called Givenchy iii. Years ago it was readily available then they discontinued it as it had some ingredients that were prohibited. Anyway, years later they relaunched it at double the price, and only available in Harrods here in London. I was lucky enough to get a bottle from my family this summer! It really brings back memoires. I also like La Perla, but only when it's old, and only in winter. I find it too heavy for summer. Jimmy Choo is my newest like. Thanks again for your video!

I like Tom Ford and the original opium. I have illamasqua freak, shiseido zen in the black bottle ( summer only), Estée Lauder sensuous and the dark version and too many others to name them all. I usually like the scents they consider night time , I don't like girly scents either.

As I get older I find myself appreciating more of the deeper scents I still love my happy but I'm drawn to one in particular alien by terry Miller I don't have the last name spelt properly. Tammy try a sample of this I just fell in love by the way I now adore Burberry ( the original) thanks to you I always loved patouli when I was very young I have now rediscovered it in fragrances thanks for your knowledge on scents notes and the dry down its all great knowledge to have. One that I have been wearing for years is Armani Lei/Elle/She. Being a bit of a perfume "ho" LOL, I own many fragrances. The three I have received the most compliments on are Bottega Veneta (favourite), Narciso Rodrigues for her (eau de toilette in black bottle) and Chanel Allure. I will certainly look for the Allure Sensuelle. You have me intrigued. I have, in the past, enjoyed one of Donna Karan's fragrances Cashmere Mist Nude. It was divine. I am not sure if it is still available. It might have been a limited edition. There are others on my vanity...like I said....perfume "ho" am I.. Like you it is one of life's pleasures that makes me feel special.

Wonderful! thank you. Your taste is very similar to mine. One you may love is called 'Portrait of a Lady' by Frederic Malle. It's a dark, insensy rose, very strong (just a dab behind the neck will do) but, I think, a masterpiece. Also the new one by Marc Jacobs - 'Decandence' - is certainly worth a try. x

Tammy, I cannot get over how much of a difference the little bit of filler and botox you did has made. You always looked amazing but this has still taken off ten years. I love to keep a collection of the scents from my life. Not often, but occasionally, I wear my first perfume - the one from my college years - first marriage - young motherhood......nothing evokes memories like scent. I take aromatherapy moments during the day via soap or a diffuser. Karma hand soap from LUSH will transport me for a moment - long enough to change up my mood. I love most of Thierry Mugler' s scents.

Like you i have many perfumes and my fav is Burberry too,and Gucci guilty,also one of the most lasting fragrances ever used Aromatics Elixir by clinique,but my very best which i have loved for many years is Bel a Versailles by Jean Desprez the most elegant perfume ever and beautiful bottle.

You've piqued my interest in Burberry - I'm definitely going to stop by Ulta and give that one a try. My faves for cooler/winter months are Chanel Coco (the original, not Mademoiselle), Donna Karen Black Cashmere (no longer on the market, so I use it very sparingly), and Prada. For year-round scents, I like Philosophy Living Grace and Pure Grace, since both are very clean-smelling. Thanks for sharing your faves and for describing them so well. :)

I wore the original White Linen from Estée Lauder for around 20 years. Then they "modernised' it and it was never the same for me. I've never found another one since that I like so well so I just wear a variety depending on my moods.

i was 33 when i got my first fragrance. i was just never interested in them. i got a magazine in the mail and my mail box hit me in my face (in a good way) it was Chanel Coco Mademoiselle. I bought it. i got a sample of the Coco Noir with it. The COCO NOIR is now my favorite fragrance! i am getting more and more into fragrance but still only own 3. the third is Chance Eau Fraiche. I have the same problem with the overpowering smells. Some people on youtube and fragrantica say the mademoiselle disappears on them quickly, i can smell it on me for EVER, my grandkids will know i wore it. same with the other 2 they fill my house when i wear it on my skin. i have to also wear them lower on my body or just on a cotton in my bra LOL

Awesome clip Tammy! Since you mentioned Shalimar Parfum Initial that Joelle sent you, I thought I should tell you about Eau de Shalimar which is sublime. I wear it all the time and can go from day to night. It is hard for me to also find it although I live in Montreal. I discovered it in Paris at Galleries Lafayette a few years ago. It is not as strong as the original Shalimar, and I would say even better than Parfum Initial. It comes out every spring as a limited edition for the summer which is why it's harder to find, but not impossible. If you smelled, you might just have a 'coup de foudre'...;-)..Bisou.
