When you said "I'm in conserve mode" with some of the fragrances I know exactly what you mean. I have a few rare and expensive jewels in my collection that I don't even wear them because I'm scared of running out but I occasionally pop the lid off and have a nosegasm by smelling the atomizer 😂

Oh man, that's a long video! This reminds me of your old top season lists as you've brought back so many releases that not so many people have even heard of: Invasion Barbare, Antaeus, Gourmand Coquin, Pear&Olive, GPH2, Roadster. Even though I'm not able to watch every single of your new videos, I was able to guess like 70% of your choices knowing your taste. ;) Not much has changed over all these years, but that's nothing bad. I would say that it's quite similar with my taste. Most of my collection is based fragrances that has been in the market for at least 10-15 years, with some exceptions of course. Also, I couldn't agree more about few categories like "hug in a bottle". SDV, TI and DHI are just must have and I could blind bet that you put them on this list! Anyway, looking forward to more videos like this. Still missing your mega hauls with fquick irst impressions though. Great work as always, really appreciate the time and effort that you put in every video Marc! That's more than a passion. Kudos to you, sir.

A great and relaxing video, a pleasure to watch and get a better idea of who you are through fragrance expression. Just as a quick side note, I know you likely don't consider clones and that sort of thing, but I will just say, Dua has a clone of Slumberhouse Pear/Olive called "Succulent" that is actually a very accurate copy (not something that can be said for many of their clones). It's actually also vaulted by Dua as well, but occasionally they do a limited release around holidays of their vaulted stuff. Not 100%, but it's definitely close enough to capture the pear note with that oily/bitter thickness that olive oil can give you. I also own a bottle of the original and am in conserve mode, and this is so close that it actually scratches the itch for me on that scent.

I have to absolutely agree with you, Lavender & Vanilla smell perfect right before bed. Which part of the reason I also love Caron Pour Un Homme for bed. Especially as a pillow mist. ❤❤❤❤ Le Male OG is still fantastic. I also used it as a daily driver when I was younger. Even though, as you mentioned, everyone was wearing it as a clubbing scent. It's so much more than that.

... I came into the perfume game later in life as an adult. People forget who good the original Le Male really is. I say this without any sentiments associates with the fragrance. The lady at Shoppers was a bit surprised that I chose this over Le Parfum. Just thought is smelled/wore better. But if I were to go by first loves: Allure EDT, Pi, Obsession.

What is your 1 fragrance for life?: Burlington 1819 (I have fallen hard for this scent. I love sharp and bright fragrances and the opening of this scent fits the bill with its citrus and mint. Love the deepness with cumin and booze too. Also love how it smells different on skin (brighter citrus) and clothes (deeper boozy saffron). Means I can wear it in different temps and weather which is perfect for a 1 for life.

The lifetime choice is usually the very first fragrance you purchased, sampled...just like me and Fahrenheit or Puma Independence ;) btw have you ever thought what happens to all your bottles once you pass away? I fear they will be sold cheap because nobody else will value them right. It raises a question whether to keep such a collection or to find a strategy how to liquidate it, enjoy other aspects of life. What`s your opinion?

If you prepare yourself, the people around you won't have an issue liquidating if that is the choice. Keep a spreadsheet of value, include someone you trust to sell them off that know fragrances and pay them a fee to complete the job.

I think the Dior Homme presented here is NOT the 2011 edition - it has silver collar and silver stem. If you asked me, it's OG Dior Homme created by Olivier Polge way back in 2005 and produced from 2005 to mid 2011 (May-June).

I have not smelled a Guerlain outside of the Ideal line. Gotta get on that asap. Something I'm always looking for is Plum Japonase. Do you have any suggestions for similar scent profile or clone that i can find? Your opinion is very much appreciated. Keep up with the honorable mentions, they are not too long, just right.

Feminite du Bois Serge Lutens gets compared to it quite a bit (Plum Japonais), but I can't concur on that. I'd recommend that just because so many noses say it.

That l'artisan parfumeur bottle is actually the 2nd version, as the original vintage came with round fluted caps in a clear bottle, very much like the original parfum d'empire also did. P.s. I have a cherished 50ml bottle of purple patchouli signed by Tom Ford from a launch signing event he did at Harvey Nichols in London 2007! 😏.... though i wish I had a time machine to go back and buy 250ml decanters of it, and moss breches, bois rouge, japon noir, velvet gardiana, black violet, amber absolute and even tuscan leather in it's original nuclear formulation..... I'm always searching for these and have all but two. Also search for the really rare Creeds ideally original green flacons and over the years managed to pick up: green valley, selection verte, vintage taberome, cuir de russie, acier aluminium, bois de santal, baie de genievre, aubepine acacia, epicea, feuille verte, royal ceylon and i even have a couple of the original white and black splash bottles from the 80s... I just need the illusive cypress musc, verveine narcisse, original 60s 70s cologne, and bois de cypress which isn't even on any perfume register site but I've seen an old empty green flacon of it, and creed even did few extriats in the 70s 80s but only seen those in old photos..... the hunt continues!

I just bought the Dior Homme intense, and you are right. They butchered it. I had the original intense and that is a power house, this is gone after about 3 -4 hours. Shame on Dior. I have no idea why they are making such strange decisions when it comes to this line, why is Dior homme original so hard to find, why can NOBODY find dior homme parfum,.... Lets not let them buy the good ones, but we have the bad reformulations for the masses, because they deserve this. So wierd, do they not want to make money??

Mark, you are the OG, one of the greatest real reviewers with a great nose. However, it is blatantly obvious that you are of a younger generation than me. I was almost in my 30s when Le Male came out - for me it was a youngsters sweet clubbing trash... still is imho sorry to say. To put things in perspective, when I was a teenager, the hot new stuff out there was Kouros, which was wonderful in its first formulation. The common perfume in my era was PRPH and the 'good old stuff' was Dior Eau Sauvage. In my 20s fahrenheit came out and later DGPH... Le Male wasn't good enough for a man back then. It was for boys. So when you said your perfume for life is Le Male ... a nose like you ... I had to bring my eye brows back from the back of my head.
