The fate of Kay: One day he woke up and the police came up knocking the door. It turns out his boss at his last company decided to press charges from the embezzlement he commited since he stole a hefty sum of money. He was rightfully prosecuted and sentenced to 7 years in prison. Due to good behavior, he only had to do 5 years, while the remaining 2 he was on parole. However, his former boss still made him pay both, compensation for sleeping with his wife and the money he stole from the company. He couldn't get a nice job due to his reputation and criminal record, so he had to work multiple part time jobs. Acquaintances reported that he was seen moving from town to town because the loan sharks were harassing him at all times.

Fate of Kay: He ended up in debt after dealing with so many different lawsuits and the university decided to retract his degree as it was discovered that he had been plagiarizing his work and he got someone to drop out. He could not get hired anywhere else no matter how hard he tried. He was completely screwed and ended up working multiple odd jobs living in a rundown apartment infested with giant cockroaches. He bumped into his former friend Kanta and asked him to get him a job but his girlfriend spoke on his behalf and said no and reminded him and he was getting angry and tried to pick a fight with him and his girlfriend was able to take him down and beat him up and Kay was always ranting about how a dropout like him is successful and Kanta's girlfriend reminds him about the past and also reminds him about his college degree being stripped of. This hurt him more and he ran away. He still could not understand what he did wrong and was throwing a tantrum but picked a fight with the wrong crew and accidentally stepped on a foot of a delinquent and they extorted money from him and that put him into debt even more and this time they threatened him with violence. They one time went into his house and ask him about the money and they all beat the crap out of him and reminded him about the money. His life took a turn for the worst. Instead of dealing with these lawsuit money he decided to flee the country what what he does not know is that one of the women he slept with is a mob daughter and when she heard about him fleeing, she decided to take the matter in her own hands and send her guys to bring him back which they did. She got very angry with him and they first beat the crap out of him and finally put him to work in a shady place where he is forced to hook up with senior citizen women and get paid which 90% goes to his debt .

As an introvert myself, I dont interact much. @@dumbheretics Firstly that kind of reaction is surprisingly realistic. People process information in different ways and as the story goes on it's made clear that Uezuki...while being introverted...is also fairly unsociable. Him not understanding how to process the intense emotions wrought from betrayal isn't really supririsng. Secondly, it's shown that Uezuki didn't have any other friends...or at least trust anyone else. Kay was a popular dude so it stands to reason that he thought it was an uphill fight. Thirdly...from a psychological standpoint when people are attacked in the way he was your initial response is to become guarded...defensive. In a situation like this it could manifest in various ways...completely shutting down, fleeing from the situation etc...but for him to have taken a stand to fight back would have been a huge mountain for him to climb because as an action it's antithetical to his nature. He's not strong at public speaking. He's soft spoken, lacks confidence. Even if he is passionate about what he was researching, the thought of even standing up in front of everyone to decry the theft is likely something he wouldn't have thought of. Then he would have had to push himself to take the necessary steps to do so...and while there are people out there that can do that, expecting it of everyone is just folly. Finally...at the end it appears as though the other people at the very least respected him, but it's very clear that he didn't think any of them did...or at the very least assumed none did as it's implied no one actually reached out to him. TL;DR - from a plot point standard I see your point but from a realism standpoint it's well within the realm possibility.

I think It's also the shock of getting betrayed by his so called "friend" and him being his only friend at the time, it probably hit him super hard mentally because his trust in others was shattered completely! I think since his parents were so kind and supportive was a big part of why he got back on his feet ☺️ I think he is at fault for not standing up to that jerk at first but he did get back up and made a life for himself that's full of happiness and love 😊 it's not always about how you started, it's how finish 😎

I'm introverted too, and remembering my childhood I did have run-ins with bullies. But I never became a target. I think it was because I had a strong sense of justice, and would fight back against their bullying. e.g. Breaking the (stupid) social rule about not tattling to the teacher.

From the story it seems he is not autistic , just socially inept because he has no friends to go out or talk to. The story itself is ridiculous from the start, there's no way he never had the chance to communicate with people until the college, i mean he went to school right? You are saying from his childhood to adulthood he didn't have a single friend? And there was no one his age who treated him good? And especially if he didn't have a single friend, he would keep his guard up, we all do. I mean nobody's gonna show their research papers just because someone talk to you right? And it also seems that mc really had a good and supportive environment. With all that i assume he was just weak and gutless because he had never been in that kind of environment before, but what's baffling is that you compared this to a realistic world, and there ain't no way u never faced a stressful situations during your growth period, i.e. violence, bullying , arguments, rejection, overconfidence ,punishments, insecurity. Most of these are bad but also somewhat necessary for a person's growth. But in this story it only conviently showed that no matter how much weak or gutless he is people will accept him and the karma will go to the person. This is idealistic but not realistic, especially in today's society and a man who cannot speak up and make their own decisions will not even have a gf who is genuinely good. Either they played too much already and is ready to settle for someone who can finance their child's education. Being naive is one thing but not learning from the experience and thousands of examples is the worst punishment you can give yourself.

Not only was he arrogant and greedy, he was a lazy and lustful person... the fact that he would go so far as to betray his friend and get him fired, ruin or try to ruin his life, because he probably thought he COULDN'T GET OVER IT AND I WOULD NEVER BEAT HIM IN BEING "BETTER" (the idea itself is idiotic, because I didn't want to be the same or better person than Uezuki with real value, I wanted to BEAT HIM to show off, probably, and take advantage of him and his work... and earning money and fame NOT deserved) and committing infidelity, already tells you that something is wrong with him... perhaps in his genes and in his brain. I heard that those who cheat are twisted minded people who like to do that for fun, because they like the "occult and mystery" behind it and because they take it as a game, in addition to getting some profit... that even that they are caught and trapped, of course. They are people with real problems that you should stay away from.

For anyone in a similar situation. Try looking at the change logs as things like Google doc's note when edits are made and what is edited. As well as by who. Or if it is finished look at the date on the document for when it was last edited. Then ask to compare it with the accuser. Or if you worked on the same document just show the change logs as it would say your account did the changes.

Microsoft Office in particular saves the name of the document's original creator (you know, that name you entered when you first installed Office). It's actually been the undoing of a few cases of espionage and leaking. Someone cuts and pastes a bunch of text into a Word file and leaks it "anonymously". But the file contains their real name because they created it on their computer with their installation of Office.

Uezuki was just trying to fit in, and get through College, but Kay ruined that for him for his own selfish ends. But taking that shortcut sent Kay on a path to failure, since he then thought he could always find the easy way out, and never worked hard for his own merits, while Kanta was able to bounce back, and earned the respect of his company through hard work. Another story that I resonate way too hard with. I dropped out, too. But it was different. It was during the tail end of 2020, when this one professor asked us to conduct an assignment where we have to interviews, when we cannot. She docked my draft, and when I asked how I can do it better, she just sent me a copy of someone else's work, and hinted me to just copy off of it. That was when I know she wanted me to fail. I dropped out. Immediately after, my friend, the university's president, quitted and transferred. A year after I dropped out, my faculty advisor - this professor loves to teach, mind you - quitted. This was from a very prestigious private institution in the Northwest, to add. I'm now working, being very successful, too, and this story really, again, resonate.

Well, well...Kay was the real thief, but somehow developed quite the hamming skills, with that sneaky side eye glance he gave Kanta after duping the others into believing the lie about who stole what. Might have gotten away with it, too...had he not extended into adultery and embezzlement. Kantas parents get the big nod for support and allowing him to pursue his hobby at home, unknowingly using the program of the company that ultimately hires him. Equal kudos to his work senpai and ultimate fiancé, Shimizu, who supported him in those first years. Future approach: Kanta and Shimizu have a couple of kids and a fulfilling life, with kids spoiled by grandparents to no end....Kay, on the other hand, ends up on a Yakuza fishing boat...or attached to its keel maybe...working off his debts. An unspoken lesson here is to always make backups of your work on computer. At least once a month, if not every day. It'll save your but if your computer or HDD/SSD fails. And accusations of theft of work won't hold up when you can produce dozens of interim backups with the work in various stages of progress. Preferably use a backup program which automatically makes scheduled backups. But even if you just copy files to an external HDD (add a version number to file every time you update it), there are a lot more timestamps saved with the file than just the one that's displayed when you're browsing your files.

This entire episode requires everyone either be stupid or cowardly. The MC is a total pants pissing coward who could’ve easily stuck up for himself or proved his innocence. And everyone else took the antagonists side without asking questions about how everything went down. When one of those girls goes “I was wondering why you disappeared”, I was livid at the sheer stupidity of that comment. It’s like, you never once thought to ask and yet you say you were wondering? Honestly, I would accept the apologies but leave it at that. Might see them at a reunion or chat it up on the streets if we run into each other, but being polite acquaintances is as far as I’d go. If someone stole my research I would tell them to MENTION anything from any page, because I mean when you do research and write it down you memorize certain parts, so I'd ask them then and there like at least 10 different parts, if they can't answer, I'd give paper to someone and have them ask me, like titles - and I'd basically tell them what's there. That'd prove everything tbh. Also there is the fact a lot of text application like Word, OpenOffice etc. save the username as part of the document, you could also check that prove the truth.

Having backup is not an excuse to not engage, while not engaging can itself be a proper means of standing up for yourself, when done correctly. The MC is humiliated by the antag, goes through a journey of redeeming himself, faces the source of his trauma a second time as a better man, yet fails at conquering the antag. Everyone else, more specifically characters that aren't even significant enough to mention by name (other than staple BA love interest) do what the MAIN CHARACTER should be doing. That can be him saying everything everyone else said, that can be him telling his posse to "back off, we're better than this", that can be him slapping the taste out of his mouth & using his own influence to get away with it. You have creativity with your story, yet choose to make the main story point character (A now CEO) a blithering coward that accepts trash belittling him. A better perspective would be to have the side characters jump in as support/snowballing the talking points of the MC, so he can come across as the position & role that he embodies.
