It's the fact that the main character continues with karaoke after the second call is so unbelievably frustrating, cause the last thing Moeka says is "Sawaranaide " they subbed it in the game to "Don't" but it means "Please don't touch me" With friends like Mira who needs enemies..

Rarely do games make me angry, but my god. There's so many times it did. The food and drink randomly in her room, the creeper... It hit all my nerves and that was the point.

Yeah, I genuinely love Chilla's Art games, and this one gameplay-wise was just as enthralling. However, I have to assume the developer is male, because no female would behave the way Mira does in this game. Even if she was meant to be a sociopath (and that's why she didn't help her friend), women and girls have developed enough self-preservation skills to not eat or drink some random food found in their karaoke room, after seeing a sketchy creeper guy running out of it. Again, great gameplay, but yeah, it felt like a lot of the story was just too forced and unrealistic.

@@alexandrialeonora6542 Honestly, I don't think anyone, male or female would behave the way Mira did. Even I as a guy wouldn't just decide to eat food that I find in a room where some shady character has just ran out of. No matter how much I may be starving, it's just too sus. I have to think probably the forced situations here are due to the developer's own limitations whether it's time or etc. The developer basically forced these blatantly bad decisions on us as the character throughout the game. Still liked the atmosphere, one thing I love about Chilla's Art games is the setup of pretty mundane or ordinary day life situations where the horror is captured pretty well from the atmosphere as things start feeling really off. This one probably not the best example with the weird decisions the playable character makes. The one that really stood out to me to this day is "The convenience store".

@@orwellmushaikwa2591 Fair point! 😆 Yeah, I tend to love Chilla's Art because the attention to detail (at least setting-wise) is always so on-point. I love the little, real-life things you get to do in the games too, and that they can make even a very normal, everyday situation feel terrifying. I mean, aside from Mira's ridiculously unrealistic actions (which I do feel made this a much weaker game compared to the others), they really captured the karaoke booth experience in Japan! (When Chris was shouting at Mira to lock the door, I was just thinking, "Nah, those doors don't have locks. And they really are see-through, so people CAN stare at you if they want." 😆) Amazing how well the bits of everyday life are captured. I fully agree that Convenience Store is probably still my favorite! Honestly wish it was longer, it was so good!

Back for more Japanese (fun?) facts: Hitokara (ヒトカラ) the title is a word meaning going to karaoke by yourself. It’s actually a marketing term but there are similar phrases like 一人旅 or hitori tabi which is traveling alone. 4:05-while leaving your bag in your bike overnight is uncommon (don’t you need your phone or keys…?), theft is so low in Japan that people DO leave their stuff out in public. For example you’ll go to Starbucks and one of the tables outside will just have 2 phones on it to reserve it. 5:54-if that van looks pretty stubby, that’s because it actually is! If you look up Kei car you’ll see lots of examples of the very space efficient cars that don’t really get exported out of Japan. 6:40-that IS a shiba! You can tell by the curled tail and the way that it’s an asshole. Cute dog but wow they can be bratty. 8:09-you can just make out a sign that says Chief and a picture of an old dude. That’s a parody of Boss coffee, a really popular bottled coffee brand in Japan. Below I’ve added a series of commercials for Boss Coffee starring Tommy Lee Jones of all people. m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4DKoKqQmpZni5o 10:07-it says don’t in the subs but she’s actually saying sawaranaide which means don’t touch me….dark… At 27:13 when they show the email address it shows that it’s @yabai.ne.jp. Yabai is a slang word that has many many meanings and contexts but you can use yabai to describe a weird person and ne is an ending that means right? so it’s almost like saying @creep.right?.jp. Just a little joke At the ending when you’re driving and it shows the coach behind the fence, he says 見つけた which means I found you.

This was a creepy one with great ambient noises and soundtrack. I like the mechanic of having to sing karaoke while keeping an eye on the door although I wish it was utilised a bit more. It makes me think of Lewis's story in the game Edith Finch where you have to process fish while walking through Lewis's imagination. It is such a strong and impactful part of the game. I wish there was a bit more to the karaoke sections in this game, maybe there's something we need to observe while singing. Also, it might just be me but I had a bit of a hard time figuring out how far away the coach was during the sneak section. He sounded so close even when he was quite far away. Still really liked the game and Chris makes every playthrough a joy to watch. Always wait for his playthrough and I'm never disappointed.

Nah, the real tragedy is still the creep preying on young girls. There’s any number of reasons why victims are afraid to come forward, like embarrassment, shame, or fear of not being believed. I’ve seen it before, people taking the word of an authority figure over a student. Not having enough proof for them to believe you is even one of the endings. The fault is with the man who made the choice to assault those victims.
