My friends and I used to sue each other on court TV. The court show pays whoever wins and it doesn't go on anybody's record. So we'd make up cases and they fly you out to LA to film it. This is the full episode of Judge Alex 'Albanese vs. Palmer.'

The show pays the judgments so they made 4k and whatever they were each paid just for appearing on the show, which is probably not much something like $100-$500 each, aswell as free expenses, hotel, food, etc.

I would have gone with an increase ticket sales of 5000 for the event. Thus making it appear that Ben's PR campaign was a success. Then see the reaction of the Judge & audience. Judge: "So your telling me that you go more than 10 fold of attendees than last year?" Always got to add a twist to the story.

That "twist" wouldn't make much sense because there would be no reason to sue and the judge knows the case details beforehand. Not only it wouldn't have passed screening but I believe the leadup would've been very different and focused more on the other guy.

Naw because then the judge would have probably ruled in favor of the defendant and he wouldn't have had to pay back the money. You see the show actually pays all the damages. So they made 4k doing this as well as both being paid for appearing on the show.
