getting beta reader feedback is SO nervewracking 😭it seems like the feedback was so helpful and constructive, so excited to see more! 🔮

Kelley, you had me stressing too in the beginning hahaha. I act like this too 1000000%. When I was working with my thesis director, I'd refuse to open her feedback until it was completely necessary. Then I'd have a 3-day breakdown. You handled the feedback very well, bravo! And this had me thinking about my stakes in the early pages. Thank you for sharing!!

I love this collab! All you’re channels are great!

This collab is so fun! I’m sure your prose is absolutely beautiful! Honestly, I feel the same way about my own writing. Whenever I beta read or even sensitivity read for someone, their prose is usually *chef’s kiss* and so lush and immersive and I’m left feeling like mine is very lackluster. The beginning of your video is very relatable! 😭 Also, you’re a freelance editor, so you know what to look for! I really hope you query this project. It sounds amazing! 🥰 I wanted to ask a question about your freelance editing. I’m a sensitivity/authenticity reader and I offer manuscript critique services as well (sometimes). But I don’t have a website yet and right now, I go through word of mouth and authenticity reader databases. I’m looking into UCSD’s copyediting certificate program (I know there are other options) so that I can expand my freelance services/business and offer my copyediting services to authors. I do some freelance fiction editing for a writing organization right now. Do you feel like you get a good amount of clients and your certificate/training was helpful?

Thanks for watching ☺️✨!! I don’t think my training has helped me get more clients at all, unfortunately. I think most writers book the editor they like and trust, and I think that stems more about the person they are than the certifications they have imo!
