i am a sophomore at University of Chicago right now! my experience is really similar to yours except the PARTY AND FRIENDS part, I am a psych major on a pre-med track, doing research + volunteering so it's really hard to find motivation to join clubs, I did join the desi club but I just ditched it lmao but honestly, I CRAVE friendships smm and I totally get the "class friends" part, even though I have made some really good friends in class, it isn't the same as finding your people outside the class environment, but hopefully I would make some friends and AT LEAST A SITUATIONSHIP in my junior/senior year, I also had a hard time making friends in my sophomore year of highschool which is when I moved to the US but it got better in senior year!

Hey, love the video 😍 I am surprised that you had this experience making friends as an undergraduate student since I was told during Masters that it’s easier when you study undergrad there and continue masters. Because I had very similar experiences during my Master’s here at USF in Florida. I literally just had 2 more Indian friends with me in class and I stuck to them but also made friends with people from Egypt and Nigeria but never with actual Americans, may be American Indians but that was it!

@@princyy824 I completed my masters and got a job but couldn’t continue due to H1B employment policies here. They do a lottery system which is absolutely stupid! Average pay is decent. If you’re making money it’s comfortable but I won’t say you can save a lot as compared to India since you have to pay rent and utilities here which take up a chunk. At least in India you save that expense!

I always wondered how alea motwane managed to befriend white people, she seemed to get along really well and her friends seem genuine.
