Stretching is essential. It's one of the reasons I've managed to stay fairly injury free.
Keep in mind I don't do the exact same stretching routine every training session but this is a general idea of how long I stretch and what muscles I focus on.
I like to stretch for 5 minutes before training and 5-8 minutes after training.
And yes I'm talking about every session.
