I hated the Derwent watercolor pencils until I stopped using them as pencils and started using them as pans in a stick. The colors are really pretty.

I saw “watercolor pencil collection” and I was here in a hot second. I don’t know why but I seem to collect them. I don’t use them nearly as much as my other supplies but I can’t seem to help myself. My Caran d’ Ache stay in their box too unlike every other set. It’s such a good box to keep the special pencils in.

I have the Kalour set of macaron pastel colors and I also have the soft touch Castle Arts pencils, and I like the Kalour pencils better. They might be a Castle Arts knock off, but in my opinion they are better than the Castle Arts. I think they are softer and smoother to color with. But when it comes to art supplies, it boils down to personal preferences. 😊

Are you talking about watercolor pencils or regular ones? I didn't see a Macaron watercolor pencil set, so wasn't sure if I was losing it.

I do have more in-depth reviews on these. This is more an overview of my collection, what will be in the watercolor pencil battle, and such, but there are reviews for some of these on my channel. As for snarks...I don't get it either.

Lovely collection! My Albrecht Durer pencils didn’t fair well in my pencil case so I keep them in a canvas pencil roll that I keep folded instead of rolled since I bought them open stock and don’t have the original tin. The tips break so easily. However, my Supracolors store very will in a case. I wonder if it’s because they are slightly thinner than the Albrecht Durers.

I have the full sets of derwent watercolor pencils, the albrecht durers & neocolor 2s. I have the Artezas as well but I prefer my nicer ones! I think I’m good with the 3 sets I have! This was a great video! I would like the museums one day though not gonna lie! Maybe when I turn 30 😂

Favorite Top 3 watercolor pencils are 1) Albrecht Durer, 2) Derwent Watercolor Pencils, and 3) Museum Aquarelles

So you do know they aren't the same thing right? I don't compare inktense because they're not watercolor. They're always going to be more rich and vibrant than a watercolor pencil because they're made from ink

Am aware one is ink and other is watercolour pencil, just curious to see it side by side because an inktense is crazy expensive and i have the Steadtler Luna Watercolour that is similar to Ergosoft Aquarelle. Steadtler Luna watercolour pencils are everywhere here. 48 pencils cost about USD$15 to $18. Ergosoft Aquarelle is not available locally, I think the difference is also only with the ABS thats not in the Luna. If you ever come by Asia for holiday or maybe your friends, go buy and try them out. Leads can break a bit depending on your luck but they are very good pencils for the price. Super grateful you showed the Steadtler Karat with Ergosoft + Norris for comparison and the Lyra Rembrandt. I was itching to try them all out but its a lot of $$$ and pencils. Thank you, no i’m really happy to stick with my Lunas and appreciate them better now. Edit: Personally i feel Luna is as rich and vibrant like inktense. Most importantly good on budget for the general hobby colourists.

Do you know which brand has a pretty soft lead? I own the 60 set of Van Gogh watercolor pencils. They take to water beautifully but their application depends on the paper. I want something with a creamy application, dissolves well, AND has a vibrant after activation.

The Albrecht Durer lay down really nice while dry. I wouldn't say "creamy" because I thi8nk of Prisma when I think of creamy haha. But, they are quite smooth and dissolve awesome, but also work gorgeous not activated.

If you want to be able to mix the biggest amount of colours, you'll have to use the CMY ones. These even create red and blue.

For CMY you are referring to cyan, magenta, and yellow. Yes, magenta I prefer to use (a real one and not a super pink one) to create purple, but, you have to be careful just referring to those color names and need to know what a genuine cyan, magenta and yellow would be. That is why printers use these colors in their "colored" inks because they create other colors.

i brought castle gold but oil and for blending but cant use with water so i disppointed whats your view of castle

Well the castle art gold aren't watercolor pencils so that's why they don't dissolve. I mentioned in the video the castle art watercolor pencils aren't my favorite. They're a lot like arteza and just not a lot of payout

Do u not color any Christmas stuff. Why hate the metallics so much. ?? The nonsense are the useless ones. As for the best craft TBC pencils they are pure garbage . You can't even sharpen them . I threw them right in the trash. I got the 120 of kalour water color pencils . Way better quality.
