my risk management to pass all my funded was pre simple, my max daily loss was anywhere between 250 to 350, keep in mind i only be taking hp setups and really only taking 3-4 trades max a week, aiming for a 1:2RR. I usually risk 2-3 contracts for gold and 1-2 on nq. passed 3 50k funded in a week or two using these rules and taking good Setups. discipline and consistency will help with risk!

3 percent max DD is crazy..you need serious risk management to make it with this firm

That’s not that bad tbh
@rrsch8 ай бұрын
@@myfr33nu Compared to the standard 10 or 12% with CFD firms it's a significant recalibration. And comparing it to real life... anyone trading a personal account is going to be experiencing drawdowns of more than 3% if they're risking the standard 1-2% of account balance per trade.
@rrsch8 ай бұрын
@Calx91 All futures firms are in this range. The firms "only" have 6% targets, but with how much you have to lower your risk per trade that target becomes something else. For US traders in particular it's just an adjustment a lot of us will have to get used to if we want the stability of futures-based props.
@myfr33nu8 ай бұрын
@@rrsch again. it ain't that bad. Just risk 0.25 per trade and aim for anything more than 1R, with a good strategy and you are good to go. It may take some time, but it honestly shouldn't even take more than a year
@rrsch8 ай бұрын
@@myfr33nu I trade 2R setups, so for me, coming from CFD land where the norm is to risk 1% per trade with a target of 13% or 15%, risking 0.25% and shooting for 6% basically doubles that profit target. Then once you're funded you have to start over again with the trailing DD until you work your way up to an amount where they'll pay you without closing the account, so you effectively have a 2nd verification phase that has similar stringent DD parameters as the initial trial phase. Sometimes more stringent, like with Top Step's scaling rules. It's for sure doable in a year but I'm paying futures firms every month plus more upon passing, whereas with CFD firms you have a lower equivalent profit target + get all your money back when you pass. People can choose which they prefer, I'm not knocking futures or futures firms, but objectively, CFD firms are a better deal money and terms-wise. Now as a US trader looking for stability, that might push me or others over the edge to futures props. Not quite yet for me though I don't think.

but we get 10% dd in fx WITH TARGET OF 13% while its only 3% HERE WITH TAEGET IF 6% . so in terms of dd to profit target fx prop firms are better which has static drawdown while topstep has trailing dd

Bro I’m coming from forex and kept thinking it’s difficult , but that exact math you did with dividing your trades Into 6 trades is the same logic I did , I never lose 4 trades in a row , it happens , but my belief is it’s rare to happen back to back . Maybe 🤔 futures might be for me . Can I trade currency GU ?
