Hey @cammycapital great video. A lot of clarity. I passed $150k challenge and hit $9650. When my express fund started today it was at $0. So if I make $200(plus fees) worth daily for the 5 winning days required. How much will I get in payouts ? $4500 + the $500 from the $1,000 I made to achieve those winning days? That’s the only thing confusing about what constitutes as your winnings for max payout your first pay out? 50% of the combine winning or 50% of both combine wins and your $500 out of the $1000 that are mandatory to win $200x5days ?? Please help clarify that. I appreciate your response and hard work!

I just started with Topstep today and will start my Combine next week. Have been using Tradingview the past month and you'll realize how much cleaner it feels compared to metatrader. Just better overall. Plus it has a built in position size calculator pretty much with the long/short drawling tool. Haven't looked back since. Metatrader feels like garbage now lol.

Nice explanation of TopStep. I do have a question. If you start with a $50K account and you get your account balance up to say $55,000 and you take out $3,000, leaving you $52,000, do you still have the $2,000 original drawdown PLUS your new $2,000 profit cushion? I'm with another company now but they have a trailing drawdown and I don't like it because the drawdown balance can get hit when you have lost ($2,500) even though you could have a $55,000 balance and it's awful. Thanks for any light you could shed on this question. 🙏

ACTIVATION FEE: something you didn't really elaborate on. It seems according to TS own website that the activation fee is per XFA. So, if you lose a funded account for whatever reason and have to re do the Trading Combine again - you would have to pay the activation fee again as well. Correct?

I understand most of it but instead of the cushion part. So you get funded start at 50k and have 2k in cushion. You make it to 54k and get a 50% payout and have 2k left over. You still have 2k cushion or 4k cushion if it was at 0 before getting to 54k

All positions must be closed by 4.10pm EST, so no overnight positions. And there is no monthly data fees after getting funded. But if you ever get “shoulder tapped” to move over from “Express Funded” to a true live funded account then you will have to pay data yourself, but they will run you through this process when you get there 🫡

Yep correct. It's $2k initially with the $50k account, trails you up to the starting account balance (i.e. once you've made $2k profit in the account, the trailing drawdown stops following you up there) then you can build the drawdown cushion up as much as you like with your profits

I'm new to Topstep but yeah it is frustrating cuz you essentially only keep 45% of what you make because if your balance is 1000 let's say, you can withdraw 50% of it an you keep 90% of the 50% so 45%! Sucks because you think you're giving them the money but if you were trading with your own money and you make a 1000 would you just withdraw it all or keep some to keep growing your account? Makes sense?

Good question - if you have $10k profit in your account, your max loss is also $10k but your daily loss limit is still $2k

What about exchange fees? That is cost per trade. For example, TD Ameritrade is about $7 round trip and Tradovate is about half that. I know you can't use TD Ameritrade with Topstep, I'm just using that as an example.

Varies depends on which platform you use. I use TopstepX at the moment, commission free trading but the usual exchange fees apply

Hello! On an earlier post someone had asked if sensitive info needed to be given to TopStep. Ive never gone on their website however watched others videos. My understanding is that if you want a payout you need to fill out a W-9 form, however that does ask for one's social security number. Would like to confirm with you and others. That's allowed! The consistency rule just means that you can only make a maximum of 50% of the total profit target to pass the combine in one day. For example, a $50k account has a profit target of $3000 before you get funded. Therefore, you can only make a total profit of $1500 (half of the $3k target) in a single day. However, this rule no longer applies once you are in the express funded or live account - you can make as much money as you want once funded.

#1 - yes correct, you need to make at least 5 green days of a minimum of $200 in between each payout. These don't need to be consecutive. #2 - yes the trailing stop stops following you once you've made the $3000 profit (in the example of a $100k account)

of course anything over 2k turns into building the account XFA. Before 2k EOD is trailed and will display 2k or less just like in the combine.

Yeah that’s correct, you can build that cushion to whatever you like - however there will still be a soft daily loss limit ($1000 in the $50k example) to prevent you from going on tilt and blowing the account. However, the risk managers will allow you to increase that fixed limit if you have proven yourself consistent

Question about the drawdown once you pass, lets say I follow your advice and get my account to 54k (4k earned) before requesting a payout, so then my drawdown max is 2000. now my account is 52k and I make 4k more, and grow it to 56k. Now if I take out a payout at 2k, is my new drawdown limit at 2k as well? (being 52k) or would it again be at 50k? hope that makes sense

Max drawdown would be fixed at $50k at that point - anything you make above the $50k balance is yours, so you can build as much of a cushion as you like!
