Hi Jeremiah! Thank you for stopping by. I have another already recorded and it shouldn't take two long too edit and post. I am going to save it to release in the next few days so I am not running out of content quickly. I am also working on a script for my next review as well. Thank you for your patience. Very glad to hear from you. Thank you!

The game/experience that “hooked” me in was actually AD&D with my friends and their older brother- who would run us through a fantastical realm. The thing is, is that WE drew the map. WE created EVERYTHING we did in that game. It was less about the heroics of roleplaying and more about the creating of a cool location to adventure to. It was about the experience of laying down that next tile, or drawing the next page, or describing the next foe. The freedom to create anything is what got me into gaming.

@@AmazingAaxor I love that. I would have loved to be a "fly on the wall" to see the enjoyment and wonder as each session unfolded. Such good memories.

No specific board game hooked me like that when I was younger. However, in grade school, I would take out several books of science fiction, fantasy and mythology each week. I'd read them everywhere, including in class. Sometime later I saw the movie Excalibur and was soon after invited to play Dungeons and Dragons with a friend. During all of that, any game I played was a roleplaying game. Chess, Monopoly, Risk; it didn't matter. There was a story to be had in every game, and I was part of it. Several years later I bought Dungeon! I enjoyed it quite a bit, but by then I was playing weekly role-playing games of several kinds. I didn't really get into board games until 2009. When I played Shadows of Brimstone, and made a paper character sheet, it really brought me back to my first days of playing D&D in the early 80's. I did have the electric D&D board game as a kid, which was amazing, but when I was in my 20's I lent it to a neighborhood kid who felt no need to return it. BTW, for a second there, I thought you were going to ask us, "Have any of you seen my copy of Hero Quest?"

Hey there Chris, sorry for the delayed reply. I dont know how I missed your comment. And you took a good amount of time to write it out. My apologies, truly. I think we reversed roles on what type of gaming we discovered first. Though if I was being entirely accurate I would say I discovered role playing on the original Nintendo via final fantasy. Otherwise, I found role playing ( or dungeon delving really ) through heroquest before I found pen and paper role playing. I think my first role playing game was actually MERPS through ICE ( Iron Crown Enterprises ). From there I would discover Macross and then Rifts from Palladium. After that GURPS and then Shadowrun. It was only after those that I got into DnD and then Twilight 2000 and then The World of Darkness with Mage the Ascension and Vampire. In regards to what happened to my game, I have a pretty good idea of what happened to it, but the individual responsible likely didn't think it was a big deal and has failing memory. So I will just have to wait until I can either get the latest reprint or collect parts of the original. I am not sure what I would prefer to get. We will find out in the months to come ;) On the note of Excalibur, I have lost count of the number of times I watched that as a kid. I loved that movie. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply and converse and my deepest apologies on the length of time it took to reply. Thank you again.

@@adventuresinsolitaire There's no need to apologize. As your channel grows you will not be able to respond to every comment. I think I played every game that you played except for Macross and Hero Quest. I lost my Dungeons and Dragons electric labyrinth for the same reason. I saw the the young man years later and asked about it, but it was forgotten and long gone.
