The show requires a lot of time to create. Video and travel in real time. Then editing and mixing. Then getting new equipment and software. You have become a roaming, portable TV production studio and broadcaster.

I usually watch your videos on our TV via Roku/KZbin, so I am unable to comment or read comments. I happened to be on my computer when watching this video so I wanted to comments that my wife and I totally enjoy your videos. Your production values, your shooting techniques, your editing and your destinations - all make for quality entertainment! We also have your CDs and enjoy listening in the car as we take your music "on the road". Thanks.

When I found your channel last year there were three things that caught my attention: Your voice, your music was much better than the typical RV vlog (think most use some cheesy canned KZbin stuff that really annoys me) and your video presentation. The videos are primarily about the places you visit and the journey to get there and I like that. You take those elements and wrap them into a quality video that can be long but once immersed in the story, do not seem long at all. If I ever get a channel started your channel is the benchmark (although my signing is terrible). Great job.

No questions. Some comments. First, I thoroughly enjoy your videos as they are visually appealing as well as aurally. Now I understand why. I can see based upon your audio equipment and terminology that you have found an excellent opportunity to transfer your musical recording skills onto these videos. For me, that is a game changer that keeps me watching your videos. They sound and look professional without being cheesy. Keep up the great work, Robert! As a fellow musician and RV.-wannabe you are filing my tank with many hours of enjoyable explorations!

Thank you Robert! I have wondered for a long time about the dash cam left side soft focus, the Sony FDR X3000 does seem like a great dashcam (and for what other kind of footage you would like to get). I am very impressed with the Sony FDR AX53! The footage you have been able to get with that is quite stunning, and amazing on how far you can zoom in and it keeping the picture stable (cool seeing that inner gimbal in the lense)! And your drone, very cool, love the footage you get from that! Congratulations on getting your FAA part 107, it is quite the accomplishment, especially with all the information you have to learn. Kudos on your amazing travel videos and commentaries, appreciate when you've shown the view form the Cross in California and the one in Texas, too! Like seeing when your able to have your wife along, too.Thanks again for all you do for encouraging RVs and traveling in general!!!

You STRIVE for the best quality and content, and it shows, more that any other RV postings on KZbin !! The modern technology is amazing, and I love the audio quality of that microphone set-up - sometimes older is better !! That "counter" you installed from IKEA (was it?) really worked out great - you obviously need the room !!! I do enjoy all your video productions... and I thank you. Thanx for this video. It always interesting to see new equipment reviewed, but even better to see long term usage reviews. I didn't realize that the audio was so bad, not that it has ever been great on the gopro's. Sound like all you really need to make the tiny sony 3000 better, is a gimbal to get better stabilization. I just wonder where or what new innovation will hit the camera industry. I remember using slide film with exposure latitude on a stop and a half. Now digital camera have like 12 or 15 or more which is amazing. To think that Ansel Adams use his eyeball as a light meter is pretty amazing. Loveyourrv also is a camcorder guy and also upgraded a while back. The last couple of videos he has used the camcorders great telephoto range for some phenomenal wildlife closeups. Speaking of phenomenal that timelapse star shots were awesome. Good to hear of the addition of a larger monitor as youtube really shine on a large tv. The most common production mistakes that effect tv views I have experienced is wild and fast pans. Some can even induce motion sickness. Your production quality has always been void of such issues from what I have seen. Again thx for your content, I don't think people realize just how time and energy that vlogger put into there channels.

Get the Rode Wireless Go microphone and you can record the audio on the camera instead of syncing it. Put a Sony RX0 on top of your camper. It never crashes, and you can run it on external power, or just get another X3000 and put it up there. The audio on the GoPro sucks because it has a membrane in front of the mic to make it waterproof. Ulanzi makes a case for the GoPro that holds the camera and the mic adapter on the bottom of it, and has a cold shoe on top, and a tripod socket on the bottom, so you can use that with the Rode wireless Go, and you will have a nice portable GoPro setup with excellent audio.

I have also chosen a camcorder as my workhorse. What's reassuring is that I made that decision for basically the same reasons as you. I especially agree with the stealth of a camcorder. Some of those DSLR setups look like a dead racoon on a stick and can't help but draw attention. Your vids are my benchmark for my own (it doesn't hurt to aim high) and now I have just a little more insight into your "genius". Thank you for sharing.

Hello Robert, The above video of yours popped up, and I was right away interested in the title. I was 1m 18sec into you presentation and you said you had a Sony AX 53. I just bought that model 3 weeks ago, replacing my 9 year old Sony, I think hdx 500 or something close to that model. I subscribed and fav'd and notifications, will be watching you like a hawk. One of the first things I will be searching for will be an addition of a wireless mic. Ruled out Bluetooth, read a few reviews on another unit of Sony brand but had problems with if I remember correctly some humming (?). What do you use and do you find it performs well. Regards, ~~ Karen P.S. Also will be buying a "hot dog" computer" P.S. 2 I have had 8 or 9 video cameras since 1984 (the last 4 of them still work) and started a Wedding Video Taping Service which I did for 12 years.

Thanks Robert! I have the Sony HDR AS200 but have a couple of the AS 300s that I need to get fixed(were from @JBG Travels).. and hopefully will be receiving a x3000 as well. What are your thoughts on that one?

X3000 is great except for the battery life and occasional overheating.

The Sony FDR-AX53 captures high quality video in 4K and has the built in lens gimbal coupled with the image stabilization called Balanced Optical Steadyshot. I have been using the AX53 for three years for my other YT channel and it's amazing. Sadly, camcorders like this are probably on their way out.

We'll be the last holdout using these. I really hope Sony updates the FDR line at least one more time

I ‘m curious. How long does it take to edit a typical video. As an example , 10 min video take 1 hour, 2 hour, 3 hour, etc.....I must be really slow but the editing takes me many hours for a 15 min video. Thanks, Dan

It really depends on the internet speed. At home in Miami 10 minutes. Out here it can take hours.

Robert as I've aged I tend to get tired driving... how do you do it?
@TravelingRobert
@TravelingRobert 4 жыл бұрын
I can't drive as much as I used to, and I don't like to drive at night anymore unless it is familiar territory. I do have a big espresso in the morning and halfway through the day.
