This is the coolest thing in the world. I’ve never engaged in the community and don’t even play geoguessr that much but seeing all the creators and players I’ve followed for a while come together and show off Geoguessr on the world stage was amazing. It was so awesome to meet you CG!! The whole experience was incredible, watching such amazing gameplay live and in person, surrounded by others who love GeoGuessr was something I’ll never forgot. It really was a phenomenally put together event and I am so happy so many people outside of the community have become more interested in GeoGuessr because of it! 70k viewer peak is so insane and I would have never predicted it! Not to be dramatic but all together being there in person for the final, meeting people in the community, and being there in beautiful Stockholm made it one of the days of my life lol

First of all, congratulations!!! Agree with you on the casting - I think a mix of casters who know the game inside and out and more colour commentary that's less directly experienced made it really watchable for those newer to the game. Heard that a lot from people I was showing the WC too - it helped them understand it and feel more able to follow along. So impressed with the world cup, especially for a first!

I commented this elsewhere, but I'm gonna say it again: Sitting on my couch at home in Germany and watching stream, I was really impressed with the event they put together! What a production value, what a talented group of hosts, casters and crew! People with all those different backgrounds were invited, came together and it seemed like every single person was placed in the exact position that best suits their individual skill set. From the guy who did the player interviews and hosted main stage. To the Canadian caster who just had amazing chemistry with Trevor and asked all the right questions about the game, ensuring the stream was also suited for a less GG-experienced audience. And let's not forget that one cameraman who was just casually playing GG on his phone in the downtime😅 Everyone just gave it their all, everyone got to shine and do exactly what they can do best. And that made it into a very rounded, wholesome broadcast -- suitable for as broad an audience as can be for such a niche event. other aspects worth mentioning: - Insane level of professionalism displayed by everyone involved, which is important to keep the sponsors happy in case we wanna see a similar thing next year (and we DO! Heck yeah we do!!) - how they managed to bring across the awesome community spirit and the positive athmosphere between players, while at the same time, bringing across how intense and competitive the match-ups (esp in bracket play) where! Usually, these two things kinda contradict each other. Production can decide between showcasing the competitiveness, which makes it more exciting to watch and drives up the stakes, vs showcasing the happy sappy community aspect of it all, where competitors are just genuinely cheering each other on. Usually, it's one or the other. At this event, however, they managed to showcase both aspects simultaneously. I am just so impressed not only by how everyone played, but also by the production and stream. Congratulations to you, again, and hope to see you there next year either as a player or as a caster! (Or both! You are such a legend for doing both, btw. So professional!)

Thanks for sharing your perspective and behind the scenes videos! The whole production was amazing to watch remotely as well (though the FOMO was real lol). I’m amazed just how well it went for being the first time GeoGuessr put on a huge event like this. I have confidence that if they do it again in 2024 it’ll be even more amazing.
