As I said, I never really wanted a bearded dragon of my own. That said, I knew if I ever ended up with one, it would be something like this. I’m so happy to have this done, finally! Not only to share with you but especially for Big Tony. I love being able to provide better living conditions for animals that otherwise wouldn’t live this well. I’m sure I’ll go bigger down the road, but for now, Tone finally got the mansion he deserves! Let me know what you think, and have a great weekend SerpaSquad!

Great job! My daughter got my grandson one for his 8th birthday. It didn't take but a week before he decided she wasn't what he wanted I reluctantly took responsibility for her,"Mango". I thought," Great, just what I needed, a cold blooded reptile!" BUT, from the very first we bonded. We are together as much as is healthy. She actually snuggles as I play video games and we sit outside and read. She is more a small dog than reptile. I was amazed at how much personality she has. I'm no bleeding heart, I'm a 71yrs old ex construction worker that fell for a Bearded Dragon. I researched and learned all I could and she seems a very healthy and happy dragon. Perfect pet for me. At 71 I'm rather active for my age and she is just the ideal companion, don't tell my wife!

Every single time I take my daughters to the store to pick up crickets, they always ask me to get them a new reptile. The actual materials aren't expensive at all. You just need the lumber cost, carpentry skill, and the space for an enclosure this huge. You can also cheat it by looking for old rectangular floor-standing aquariums, selling the glass aquarium tank, keeping the pedestal, and then simply building a new wooden frame top enclosure part for it all.

Beautiful environment you made for Big Tony. My brother passed away unexpected. Left behind were his pets, we had no idea how to appropriately take care of his parrot or the Bearded Dragon or what was the correct food. Nobody we knew wanted them, so we put out an ad under the pets section for the sale of these pets. After sorting thru the people, we found a couple of separate homes, with people who actually knew how to care for them. These people were willing to pay, but we said no, just glad to see them go to good homes.

@@Stien58_for the conditions he was healthy. I don't know how many rescues you've seen but often they're in far worse condition, and not as friendly due to lack of interaction. And unfortunately those usually come from homes where the owners don't have the brains to realise or admit that they are neglecting their pet. These people at least knew that. And to be honest his enclosure was def not the best but could have been worse. He's clearly been fed as he's not anorexic. But probably not an appropriate varied diet. Thankfully they obviously cared enough to surrender him ❤

I'm in a similar situation. I got asked to babysit a beardy and they had it in a plastic storage tote. No hides it could fit in. No timers on the lights so it was on for days and off for days. I told them I would keep it and put it in a tank with a 3D background that has shelves and a cave. I learned how to make that by watching your videos. I hooked everything up to timers so she has stability. I brought her to the vet for a checkup and also purchased medication for her heart condition. She's doing a lot better now that she doesn't scratch plastic walls all day.

I'm thinking of having a bearded dragon, it all seems a little daunting tbh but watching Big Tony navigate his way through his neatly built vivarium and the happiness it brought to him only makes me feel comfortable with the idea of owning one. Fantastic setup, good video. I subscribed. 🙌🏼

Love your videos, been watching for such a long time. There are so many youtubers making videos on animal keeping who just use animals for videos and do the bare minimum to care for them. It's so great to see how much you actually care and go far above and beyond for your animals.

So cute, and Tony is a great name. You are a great ambassador for reptiles and its a pity people dont do more research before buying them. Great home for him too. God bless you.❤❤

Thanknyoi for your videos! My son (10) is diligently studying the information on bearded dragons etc since we have allowed him to get one this year. So far we have found (my son's research mostly, that's how you ended up in my youtube feed, me and my husband just doing some back-up research) a place for the appropriate sized tank counting on how big this dragon will grow, found someone with experience to build a tank for the bearded dragon specifically since we are complete beginners. Oh year, I need to contact our vet, if they are familiar with taking care of this animals. We are responsible for those we have tamed. So thank you :)

I absolutely love your channel for the reasons you said in your rant. I'm currently in uni and nearly bought a beardie impulsively because I miss home, but the more I researched, the more I realized how much space these creatures actually need, vs the their basic survival needs. Seeing full grown snakes in Tupperware containers and the owners are just like, "yeah this is a fine permanent solution" irritates me so much. I've decided to wait until I know where I'll be permanently before buying a reptile, but this channel allows me to live vicariously through these videos whilst I wait. Thanks Serpa

The store didn't know how they lucked out that THE man who makes amazing habitats for all kinds of small animals happened to be there and of course immediately fell in love with it. That's one lucky lizard, and a happy ending to an otherwise awful story. It's like if your family dumped you in a Walmart parking lot the second some random generous rich eccentric who already owns a mansion full of orphans showed up and was like "yeah sure why not, what's one more and also I love you already."

Acquired many isopods including those Rubber Duckies I watched you take care of! But this video brought tears to my eyes! Definitely the best video you have made to date! But I have more to watch! I just want to say thanks for your passion and inspiration!

I think what some adults and parents don't understand is that just because an animal is smaller than a cat or dog that doesn't mean they're easier to take care of. Reptiles and amphibian pets deserve to live spoiled, happy, comfortable lives, just like we spoil and take care of our cats and dogs. If someone (parents) gets a living creature, they need to treat it as such and not like a toy or a prize. I think amphibians and reptiles, and small rodents, require more work because they deserve to live in a comfortable and nice enclosure with everything they'd have in the wild in their environment (except predators). So building a completely new environment and ecosystem is, in my opinion, more difficult and much bigger responsibility than getting a cat or dog. You are amazing at building these enclosures so these animals can thrive and be comfortable. And you treat everyone, even the littlest of shrimps with respect and love. Which is beautiful and rare. And on top of all that responsibility, you film everything and share it on KZbin. Thank you.

Totally agree. I believe the category managers at big box retail stores are to blame for the substandard level of care available for reptiles. They must be held accountable. Thank goodness for Tanner and other content creators like him who advocate for higher care standards.

As a young teen i has a beardie hatchling that i had the pleasure of raising called Cromwell. I loved this video, bearded dragons are so naturally curious & intelligent, they love hanging out with you & checking out what you're doing. Unfortunately my mother gave him away without my knowledge or consent one day & i haven't seen him since, but i hope he's doing well & in a loving home such as this one. Thanks for this video.

Seeing animals that are properly taken care of makes my heart so happy. People have NO excuse not to do any research befor getting an animal. Especially nowadays. Thank you for taking care of these animals in the correct way, i hope people will see your content amd realize that they should reassess their animal's living conditions

I loved your mini rant! I had pet mice and pet rats collectively for a little over 5 years (our mice lived for about 2 years and our rats lived for about 3) and it frustrates me to no end how small enclosures would be advertised as enough space, or how pet stores will encourage people to only get one rodent when theyre social animals - and god forbid they stop selling pine bedding because pine is toxic to most rodents! Thank you for all you do and feel free to voice these things in your videos, it's cathartic
