@thomasjoseph58768 ай бұрын
Yup. That is game over at that point. The seed is set in their brain, even if they push it to the far back of their brain, it will STILL be there and the person that proposed it will be very vulnerable to situations that may allow them to "act" upon it in the future. For some reason, they see their partner as "inadequate" in their relationship and because of that, there is a certain loss of respect for them that will always remain in their heads. The "Love" is gone. it's best to just walk away and find someone else. They are no longer compatible. NO ONE who claims to "Love You" would ever suggest an open relationship.

At this point, there isn't much of any sort of criminal complaint that can be done. It really doesn't fall under revenge porn as they never dated. There is no evidence showing how he got the photos so it is "he said, she said". Trying to break up a couple isn't against the law. She MIGHT have some sort of civil claim but there again, there just might not be enough evidence to prove anything and I am not sure what they would even try for. Maybe the threat of him losing a lot of money may make him "retreat" but it would probably be temporary as he seems h*ll-bent on destroying her life and he would see his retreat as a loss and would need to rectify that in the future. The best thing is to attack his reputation and keep what he did out in the open for all to see. Make sure anyone involved professionally knows about this situation but the OP needs to be careful not to lie or expand on anything but the actual facts of what the guy did otherwise, she could be liable for defamation or libel. To be honest, I believe the ONLY WAY this ends is with her total destruction. The guy will not accept anything less. I had a guy obsessed with me for 2 years and guess what? As long as he doesn’t answer his door, cops could never talk to him. It was so frustrating that he would wait for me outside on the porch EVERY DAY but legally he was allowed to because he was my neighbor. Never mind the 2;00 am knocks on my door, the unwanted ‘gifts’ left on my doormat. The calling me a whore when I wouldn’t go out with him. Nothing mattered because he knew how to skirt the law enough to continue. Story 2: I understand why commenters are frustrated with OP, but not everyone's response is to fight. Some people get so anxious at the thought that it makes them physically ill. It's completely understandable why OP might feel frozen or hopeless or just not have it in her to escalate the fighting. OP is dealing with a ton, without starting legal proceedings - divorce, the loss of her sister, and the discovery that this dude is a psycho - especially when there are signs it would be a big uphill battle. If OP did go to a lawyer, they might agree with the cops, laws be damned, and not be willing to take the case, which would be even more exhausting and devastating. And you know, when dealing with crazy/entitled men, escalation is not always a safe thing to do. Trying to leave an abusive relationship is the time an abuse victim is most likely to be murdered by their abuser; obviously it's not the same thing, but I wouldn't be surprised if a similar dynamic applied here.

A sarcastic “LOL” with the comments towards the last story; Reddit comments often seem incredibly naive when it comes to reporting things to the police (& child services as well). For real for real cops choose too not pursue cases; even when you file a full on report - even with one including witnesses, authority figures, records, and violence - there’s a multitude of reasons but stop acting shook when posters don’t get any real legal help 🙃
@alexlibby50878 ай бұрын
Also - if you hire a lawyer with no criminal case it becomes civil; than there has to be someone with something of value to go after & sue for damages. This can irk me a lot because predators often know the inner workings of rules/laws/policies and things like this so they can continue preying w/o ever being able to actually be held liable for anything.

story 2. wait, if you took the pictures for your husband, why wouldn't he recognize them? i mean, maybe you send a ton and he might not immediately recognize them, but unless he erases them, he should be able to go back and confirm. if he does erase them, and you don't, you should be able to go back and show im. if you both erased them, how did they get them?

also, I'm pretty sure there's a law about something like, relationship interference. like someone purposefully trying to interfere with someone's relationship. much like the foundation for parental alienation, grandparents rights, etc.

looked it up, and yep, alienation of affection. it's a civil suit, because he broke up their marriage, he can be sued for all the financial problems and emotional distress.
@AngryReptileKeeper8 ай бұрын
Thank you! I was hoping somebody other than me would catch it and say something! And it's not just the pictures, it's the fact that he was so quick to believe the accusations, and so quick to move on with another woman afterwards. Sounds like all of this just helped reveal what a POS husband he was.
@wheelsndealz8 ай бұрын
@@AngryReptileKeeper I wouldn't say the husband was a POS. The wife didn't think about it either. And I didn't catch how soon after it happened that he started dating but she obviously moved on too. I was just pointing out a glaring thing that I'm surprised neither of them realized. She seems way too apathetic to getting justice for what happened. So idk, there might have been more to the story we didn't get.

I am a firm believer that someone who cannot:will not help themselves, will very rarely be capable/motivated enough to help others. By failing yourself, you fail others as a consequence. Or in this case op won’t (not can’t as that’d imply she couldn’t do anything when she can) help the sister when she won’t even help herself.

1:36 she's probably already cheating. She definitely already has someone in mind and will cheat in the future if she hasn't already. Bringing up an open relationship out of the blue is sus as hell, regardless of whether it is a dude or a woman suggesting it. That is something that needs to happen at the start of a relationship if at all

No one who claims to love you will ever want to share you.
@bryn10638 ай бұрын
@@thomasjoseph5876 i agree to a point. Poly people truly do love their partners they also simply love others too but for most of us it's just cheating and aren't truly polyamorous
@thomasjoseph58768 ай бұрын
@@bryn1063Let me rephrase that since I am talking about a monogamous relationship as in the story. In a Monogamous relationship, no one who claims to love you will be willing to share you. I thought it was a given since the relationship in the story was about a monogamous couple where suddenly one of the couple decided they wanted to open the monogamous relationship. However, I have heard from some Poly people that someone who claims to love you will not change the structure of the poly relationship from the agreed-upon terms which is most of the reasons poly relationships fail as it amounts to essentially, cheating. This usually involves adding another (or more) persons to "share" so my original statement could apply to poly as well.
@bryn10638 ай бұрын
@thomasjoseph5876 obviously that's why I said it was cheating for most. In Successful poly relationships they do share each other. It's just with others permission so there's actual love there 🤷🏿

First story, the only one who has a problem is her, because from the looks of it she thought she all that and a bag of chips, though she could get him to cave to her wants not knowing he had a steel spine and self-respect, and was not going to be pressure into something he made crystal clear will never happen and will always be a deal breaker for him, And she couldn't handle it especially since she got mad and unjustly called him names, when she was the one who messed up their relationship and try to push a boundarie he made clear that will never be crossed under any circumstances, and that bruised her ego because she really thought she could have her cake and eat it too, which wasn't happening here, Seriously if there was a concern about something in their relationship, it's called couples counseling not ask/ pressuring for a open relationship or something that crossing your partner's boundaries, and know 100% it crosses their boundaries while asking anyway.

First story is kind of familiar to me, after I gave birth to our child my ex-husband came up with the bs that he deserved to sleep with other people because he was a virgin coming into our relationship and I was not because I had been r4p3d as a child. He also tried to tell me that it would strengthen our marriage if I allowed him to do it. He straight up said I didn't care about him or our marriage if I did not allow him to sleep around. He decided my no was not legit and went out and slept around anyways, and brought an STD home to me, and begged me to help him not go to jail because one of the girls was a 14-year-old-ward-of-the-court. His friend, who was a social worker, actually helped him out with that. He told my ex to call her social worker and tell her that the child was stalking him and his wife and baby (which she did) the social worker helped him get a restraining order and he didn't get into trouble for sleeping with a 14-year-old even though he was 23. He is my ex for a reason.

Early on in my boyfriend and my relationship he asked about a threesome. I asked him "oh, who's the other guy you want to join?" He got flustered "wha... No, A second woman. O don't want to have sex with a guy." Me smugly "until you're willing to explore a threesome with two men and one woman, you will not get a threesome with one man and two women. And if you have a threesome with two women now, then that is cheating. It will absolutely break me. I will leave you immediately and be single for years because I wouldn't be able to trust any man." He nodded and said it was understandable, asked if it's a 100% no from me. I paused, thought a little and said "right now, how I am doing and how I feel it is a complete and clear NO, I don't know what the future holds, but you shouldnr stay with me in hopes of me changing my mind. And it hasnt come up, well he has mentioned that it's almost every guys wildest imagination and fantasy. So i just say," that might be true, but according to studies it takes men around 5 minutes to climax and women 30 minutes.. Do you actually believe all those men who fantasize about threesomes will be able to last close to 1 hour in bed?" He laughed a bit "I can't, but I understand the fantasy and the idea of it" I think that's a good way to talk about such things.
