My Go Pod's motormover and getting it ready for winter

The motormover is a wonderful thing so he's a video to celebrate it. I also realised I hadn't documented all I do to get the Go Pod ready for winter.

Hi TalksandTales My name is Charles, iv been watching your GoPod video's on KZbin they are grate!! me and my wife have an old trailer tent but we love the look of the GoPod. I just wanted to know what car do you tow with? only we have a FIAT PANDA 4x4 1.3 do you think it will tow the GoPod? Many Thanks Charles

Glad you are enjoying the videos. I'm certainly enjoying making them. I tow with a (very) old Vauxhall Zaphira. The Go-Pod has a towing weight of 750kg. I think your Panda can tow to 900kg (but you'd need to check your documents to be sure) so theoretically it should be fine. Certainly the Pod is one of the lightest caravans out there. Be careful though, that tow weigth of 750kg includes everything you put in the Pod as well as the pod itself. It's quite possible to load it up to much higher than that if you aren't checking what you are doing. With that in mind I don't think you should get things like the oven or the microwave as that adds a lot of weight.

Can you use a microwave off grid with the addition of a solar panel?

I don't have the microwavebut I don't believe so as the Go-Poddoesn't have an inverter

You would need a big inverter and the current drawn would flatten the battery very quickly
