Deep Sea Adventure would also be a good alternative. Easy to learn, nice tiny box, takes about twenty minutes tops, and it's a push your luck game but doesn't look as nice My Gold Mine.

Games for babies are very important. That way we get them into the hobby, and in 15 years or so when I'm on a retirement home and some young ones come to say hey, we thought we could come here to play some stuff with the oldtimers, I'll smile, close the doors, and kidnap them to play TI4. They've obviously been working together for a decade or so so they're a bit more in sync, but Quinns has a "junior news presenter on his eleventh cup of tea" meets "ADHD friend sharing their latest hyperfixation energy" whereas Matt is much more sedate but also reminds me more than anything of Monty Python's Flying Circus. His humour is far more non-sequitur absurdism. Take the Star Wars: Rebellion review. That's pretty much a Quinns script...but I'd bet that Matt wrote the opening gag.
