Regardless of what people say, the fact that his own brother ruined his life because he wanted Emily for himself despite the fact that at the time she was with OP, shows how little he cares for others. Looking out for number 1, thinking you're the main character of everything. And the fact that OP never had the chance to explain and he got disowned and even had suicidal thoughts, shows just how fragile the human mind can be when a load of horrible incidents, one after the other. Cuz they don't want it on record or made public. Plus, most who choose to believe the lies on the accused are aware to some extent that it's false, but rather go with it and be rid of them anyway. Alot of these stories would be done with if police and outside professionals with zero attachment to the people involved handled the cases since it's about justice, not favoritism, and make folks like the brother look stupid and charge him and his flying monkeys for wasting their time, false accusations, and defamation of character.
