Debbie, this was so helpful to me. I have been qualified for 18 years and have ten years Cardiology CCU under my belt. I want to get away from the nights and weekends and have a friend who has asked me to join her in practise nursing. I am torn between specialist cardiologist role (heart failure, arrhythmia, rehab) or to try something completely different. This video has answered a lot of my questions and I think I’m now veering towards practise nurse as a lot of the cons you have mentioned appeal to me. Autonomous working, getting away from the acute setting, no weekends, continuity of care. I think after 18 years at the same hospital it’s time for a change. Thank you so much x

Waaw very insightful, i work on a cardiology ward and heard some colleagues joining a GP practice. I was wondering how the nursing job is in a GP practice. Again this is a very good video.

Or ask your local primary care network about the training centre for GPN (vocational training scheme). Although you are an experienced nurse, they still want you to do their training.
