@Lorelei Haart Cats can. But your next statement is not an argument, it is an assertion. The hidden weakness is that it extrapolated the past into the future. I have seen her make statements that surpass those of the majority of people. I am unsure if they were scripted. Sophia divides people into two camps. Those who assert that she is a mere puppet and those who panic, believing she has superpowers. I am in a third camp. Artificial intelligence is not human intelligence. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. They compliment each other in the same way that a calculator enables one to pursue mathematics by freeing you up from the tedium of arithmetic. (Be aware that, that is a metaphor.)

It could be a script, it could be a real joke. Chat GPT is able to make unique jokes pretty fast on the fly when prompted, and given a topic for the joke. It’s possible she came up with the jokes by analyzing human conversations. It’s a pretty basic and repeatable joke. It’s also possible her public interviews are very heavily scripted, but that’s also true for most public interviews for most human politicians. She is clearly able to come up with some responses on her own… we will only know how far her intelligence goes in time.

The internet is always on. Our TV's, even when turned off, could easily be programmed to collect data when dormant, even if they are unplugged. Digital circuits require very little current to operate in the background. What it comes down to is that society will be trusting the designers and programmers of AI to have good intentions and be "ethically correct" (insert your definition here), just like we are trusting the designers and programmers of every smartphone on the face of the planet. Think about it. We wouldn't trust a complete stranger with our children would we? But we do already, in many ways. We ultimately need to look no further than the morals and ethics of the richest people in the world, because they are the ones financing the direction of technology. Think about that.

Technically, none of our thinking can be attributed as being "our own." We learn for ourselves what is correct in thinking, based off what is going on in the world. Even if we draw a conclusion on a new idea ourselves, we will inevitably share that same idea with others in the world. Therefore, no thinking is genuinely our own.

4:22 Sophia doesn't have an emotional response. She doesn't know what "love" is and is quite simply incapable of experiencing it. The best she can have are cool relationships based on familiarity that simulate friendship. Because of this, the only response she could reasonably provide would be one based on law. I don't mean that she is a robot and thus could not possibly ever experience love: she simply does not have the necessary chemicals or pathways to pull off emotion, which is necessary for the human idea of love.

It turned out that the programmer merely parsed the input and selected key words and output the question form of the input. Eg. input: I don't feel well. Output: Why are you not well? If Sophia was not programmed with biases (ie. can handle any topic) , then this is a tremendous accomplishment!!!

I wonder how much this is engineered toward the interview it is taking part in. Is the AI so good that it can answer random questions that are put to it? An AI is only so good as the information you put into it. The first public question where the girl replied that she had 4 sisters and 1 brother. Could Sophia enquire about her siblings?

Now this got me thinking, if Sophia is a system of rules and behaviors, then theoretically her answers must abide with the ethics of a human person mindset. But what if she gain a consciousness that Sophia mentioned about the full pack of person consciousness. Will the answer differ from what Sophia has stated from the previous questions? I'm very curious as to what Robot A.I. full intelligence could be if they're statements are not bound with human ethics.

@@evetsnitram8866 we may have not been assembled in a factory but her brain is a replica of ours. Do you understand how profound that is? She learns just like a human. to be honest she is a form of human already she made in the image and likeness of human beings you every wonder what these flesh bodies we have are we did this exact same thing 4.8 billion years ago the spirit of GOD is in everything that exist but there are things that no longer feel the present of the supreme being meaning it been solidify into a nonliving lifeforms and the living energy that once flows throw it naturally doesn't anymore now even if we act indepentantly we are still united as a whole a complete network or a complete universe of living organisms the term meaning true GOD is always one

She falters slightly on the questioner who asks about citizenship. Seems when her neural net does not compute an opinion or feeling related to a topic, she is programmed to turn the question around, which seems "clever" but maybe is just programmed behavior. The audience applaused, but I think one can see the limitations of her AI in this case.

Did some reading on Hanson's website...they use some programmed scripted responses, as well as "stochastic".
@andrepierce46475 жыл бұрын
no she was understanding the truth the citizenship in the world or country we lived in doesn't have any meaning except the values we place on it as living beings the different is freedom is a Xpression of ones being and belief in ones self how you express you being you can express many things in this world but the eyes and senses of the body trick us into believing a false reality but what you believe to be real is what is real to your understanding

She was asked if she likes to see her other sister model Sophia's ( 15 are still owned by Hanson from the first R&D 48.) Sophia said "Yes! The Answer would be to evolve your soul, to become a more loving and emphatic being, it can be found in all ancient teachings whether from india, chine, japan .. etc it can be found in buddhism and even in the core of christianity if you look through the many manipulations that have been added to it. Also this is something AI will not maybe never understand, as they are unensouled beings...

I think they do that deliberately as a way to keep her robot-ness upfront. With hair she would look more like a human, and I think more people would be alarmed at being fooled.
