​@@AzureImperium7701X I've seen calcs based on purchasing power (and like, cost of living and whatever) typically land around roughly 100usd = 1gp, which puts 1 copper conveniently at $1. I've also seen one or two calcs putting 1gp around $25-35 but i've defo seen upwards of 1gp = $100-200 a lot more often. (apparently the $100 estimation matches up to some dnd-to-irl currency comparisons made in older manuals, but i've only heard that claim on account of memory on forums here and there; haven't seen it myself.)

Brennan is the nicest DM I have ever seen, he has more patience than any I have ever personally met (judging by what we're able to watch, at least). To be frank, I would have lost my patience with a group like this a long time ago and been much more brutal in my "there are consequences for your actions" story beats. To call some basic, introductory dungeon crawler traps suffering is very conducive to someone that does not know what suffering looks like in a ttrpg :p no offence.

Riz wasn't there for that, so ultimately the jig would still be up. They had previously reasoned that the second she could see someone that she should have been able to jump into and couldn't, she'd know they had gotten one over on her. Brennan's setup for the big fight in hell seemed to almost be tailored to countering that strategy if they had gone for it. Offing Gilear immediately ensured that there would be at least one turn where Kristen wasn't GRing Riz, then introducing so many elements to the fight kept her busy with more immediate threats until he could have Riz get cannoned away from the party
