Watching your past videos. LOVING them!! I used to journal ALL the time when I was younger. Sadly, family found them and used them against me. Eventually I stopped journaling. I miss it so very much. Every time I start journaling for various reasons--spiritual, personal, knowledge- I end up stopping for weeks or months. Then I go back to one or two and then stop again. I want to be more consistent, but I think unconsciously, I stop for fear of them being found. Silly, but I am working on it. I have SO many journals!! Sometimes I get overwhelmed by this, having so many & not having any completed or filled. But I am working on trying to be more focused and consistent. LOVE this video!!! So many ideas & inspirations. THANK YOU!!

I like the challenge of trying to fill one. I just keep going, even though I sometimes take long breaks too.

Hi! I had a similar journaling habit, but when I left for college and eventually moved in with my now husband, I discovered that my twin sister had gone through all my journals because she was 'bored.' This felt like such an intimate violation and put me off of journaling for years. Recently, I have been keeping all sorts of journals bc my husband and I live alone, and he respects my privacy. But! For my more intimate thoughts and rituals, I bought a journal on Amazon that is like a locker combination and keeps the journal locked whenever you close it in a very secure folio type case. Highly recommend looking into that!

@@allyfelix7845 Thank you for this!! I will look into it. I live with family now, ones who do respect me, but I still have that subconscious feeling. I'm sorry you experienced that type of invasion. I am so glad you feel safe to journal again! It really is a a release. Thank you for sharing --Tess

Oh yes I also do a word of the year and about now I am beginning to think about possibilities for the next year. Yule is when I begin my near year and during the dark months I plan what I am going to do for the next year. I have a large flower garden and I’m trying my hand at herbs this past summer was my first and it was a trial run. I didn’t do well but I hope the next season will be better. I am a big nature person, I love trees all the things and animals. Again thanks for sharing

You are ahead of me. I’m not quite there yet! I’ll start thinking about it around the middle of December. I am sure that your garden will get better every year. It’s amazing how some plants just don’t want to ally with you. I have a few I’ve tried for years to befriend, but won’t grow for me.

What a great word. You can plug that in all over: How does this improve...? Will this improve....? And then all the affirmations about improvement as well. Love it !

It’s so interesting to see someone else organize themselves. Funny enough, this year I seem to be accumulating various journals for different purposes. I also include Latin names in my herb and garden journal because I work in both English and German and I don’t always know the corresponding name in the other language.
@naturalwitchery Жыл бұрын
Yes! Knowing the Latin makes it universal. I should memorize the family too as that would help me make even more connections between the plants 🪴

After I found your channel well it found me actually I have been slowly going through your videos and really enjoying them, I have left messages before but I wanted to tell you again I am enjoying them and I’m sure many of us out here are. I am a 58 year old nurse in Missouri we live on a 200 acre farm. My husband’s family lives near Salem Oregon it is beautiful there. In the late summer I started making a grimoire myself before I even came across this and it’s giving me ideas for my own. Again thank you for sharing.

Even though this video is from a year ago, I find so much to connect with. As you asked our opinions along the way, I LOVE the square journals, particularly that company's journals. I have frequently started work in pre-printed/prompted journals but have quickly set them aside. I'm also an Aries sun and have come to realize that I should call myself a Creatrix - because it's a really cool word and it fits someone like me who is constantly creating. Artists are always getting the same message about "You'll never make money as an artist..." just like you. All this to say that I love what you put into your videos, and I'm going to take a deep dive into both of your channels. Thanks!

Thank you for sharing these with us April, this was great! So many great ideas. I am super nosy and love getting a look at other people's journals and planners. I have tried many different ways of recording information over the years. Last Autumn I started to overhaul everything (even destroying old records/notes...and saving others to archive) because I really need to find a system that works for me. I still have multiple notebooks for different things but I also have three main binders for research/planning/practice in tarot and divination, my magical practice and herbalism. Still early days yet but I'm allowing myself to take my time because this is a lifetime task (also, I ca n easily go for weeks at a time without doing anything in the binders due to my squirrel brain). 2022 was also a really hard year for me too, it seems like it was for a lot of folks. For this reason, my word of the year is 'Resilence'. I hope 2023 is much much better for you! xx
@naturalwitchery Жыл бұрын
A binder system would allow you to move things around. That seems smart. I, too, will go for weeks, but I try to schedule a day or two a month with blocks of time to work on SOMETHING in one of my books. Resilience sounds like a great word for 2023!

Blocking time for it is a good idea, I should try it more often.

I've never done a word of the year before this year. My word is Grace. I want to give myself more grace to be productive when I feel like it and to do nothing /cocoon when I feel like it . I also have a color of the year for the first time - yellow . not a color I normally gel with but it has been in my face for months now so I'm going with it. Thank you for sharing your journals 💕 As yes to lay flat journals ! 🤓💖

Yellow is the color of confidence. It's a boutique personal integrity. Allowing yourself grace to do and not do means giving love and respect to yourSELF. What a powerful combination!

I think its so important to make these books of all kinds to pass down! I'm really enjoying your content thus far!! I recently started a KZbin channel and I'm painting and filming today while watching your videos. I am a maker of magical things. I hope to see you Stop by my page. I just started, so there isn't much there yet but I'm working on it. I've been growing herbs and flowers and preserving them for years and I'm incorporating them into my works.

2022 was one of the most difficult years for me, too. C19, 2020 to now seems to have had more stressors & battles (MH, spiritual growth/intentions, physical & financial) than I ever thought I could handle. I started 2020 with a word: Abundance. Boy no sooner did I claim my word... looking back, I learned to be VERY SPECIFIC. I got an abundance...of illness, loss of income, etc. I have to laugh about it now, as I hadn't started my path yet. But I am looking forward to starting fresh. With renewed hope optimism, and creativity. Love this video!!! --Tess
