I love your videos Heidi especially the Kérastase ones as I am a fan. ❤ I have followed your hair journey and whilst your hair still looks absolutely beautiful it’s how you feel. I grew out my bleach blonde colour over the last 2 years and was surprised how concious I was about my roots to the point where sometimes I didn’t want to go out. You don’t realise how it affects you as it’s not just hair it’s your identity. Don’t let the negative comments upset you they aren’t worth it. You have invested so much of your time and money for our benefit and we love you for showing us the right path with expensive products. ❤ Keep strong. Xx

Root shadow is definitely the way to go. Over the years I’ve worn my hair all over blonde and at other times more ombre . My hair is always in healthiest condition with more root. Because you’re using less bleach in total and not damaging the hair right at the root. Plus dimensional color is in right now.

I agree with you, I'm just used to being so bright blonde, it will take an adjustment period. Do you think moving from bleached roots to hi lift level 10ish is as damaging? I was thinking about taking baby steps in transitioning to high lift then to a shadow root. Thoughts?

@@wendye4679Hi lift is risky as well. It has a very hi developer by nature. Bleach can have an adjustable developer. Then it all depends on the level you are starting out with. Definitely go to a reputable colorist for starters.

Ciao Heidi! I found your “not so little” hair nightmare very inspiring. Last year I’ve lost half of my mane because of medical treatments, at some stage I thought to cut it off, but luckily I managed to conceal everything, my hair are cut in a short bob and actually It looks almost ok. I really love your roots color, very natural and suits your complexion. There’s a new L’Oréal professional line “molecular repairing”, which is similar to k18, here in Italy k18 is still not easy to find.

Hola! Sorry for being nosey here but I have gone through that and it’s scary, depressing and lower self esteem… what has helped me a ton for real is drink water first thing in the morning 1/2 glass with collagen powder almost any kind is good just do it everyday first thing and in a few months you will notice the BIG difference. Hope you try it it has been my best secret ever! Never tv Igor those things reworked but was so desperate I would try anything. Goodluck

Thank you, Heidi, for always being so thorough in explaining your process. I’m still working through mine and I can’t wait for us to be on the other side of our hair nightmare. I recently had my extensions removed. They helped me get by for a few months. They were a life saver, but I’m like you, me fastidian un poco. lol I am not one to have anything on my hair. My hair is looking fuller now so I’m closer to being back to normal. Still a work in progress. Bianca is a lazy little assistant, but who can get mad at that precious baby!?! 😁 I can see she’s brought a lot ofof joy into your life. She is so beautiful! 😻 ❤ God bless your little family of fur babies! ❤

I absolutely agree that looking better than you feel, to just feel like you look presentable, really works to be able to keep going. I don't want to show how it feels when everything is bad and I can hardly move, so even if it takes time I'll do some makeup and have my hair looking ok enough if I have to go somewhere. Crying at times is ok, but the spirits have to be kept up! :)

Dear Heidi, Bianca is so adorable my goodness I am so happy for you! I think you are awesome and you totally have the right and the feelings to be devastated over this horrible experience. It’s absolutely heart breaking I can’t even imagine what it felt like when hair is your actual livelihood. Tragic. I think it looks awesome and love the new salon and extensions. They are Truly angels and your team deserves 👏 💕 🥂. You are a super hot blonde and I hope you stay that way. Only my opinion. Much love sweetie and I’m so very proud of you. Saw there was an update on the joy of hair burnoff and jumped on it ;) You're doing so good with your hair and you look good! Aren't you happy this didn't happen when you were too young to handle it? I would definitely have panicked a lot more if this happened to me as a teenager or early twenties. Now I continued breathing :) Silver linings and all that. Totally recognize the mohawk feeling, haha :P My hair burned off at the top 5 months ago at about 3 cm from the scalp. I have 12 cm now and have decided to try to grow it out all through winter and see how it looks. It seems you "only" lost on top? I also lost a lot of hair in the back and one side, where the hair just brok about 5-6 cm from the scalp. Fun times. So I'll repair and grow until summer and see how it looks. Glad to see you back and your dog is really cute

Hello Heidi: I hope you post another video when you do your root touch up again. I have been following every step you have done, with Igora 12:11 & 12:19. Mixed half and half for my root touch up. Unfortunately, my root area is still too orange for my liking. I have a cousin that is a hair stylist/colorist and she insists that bleaching the roots is the answer. I don't want too. I am hoping someone on here can advise on a way I can continue to get rid of the orange/brassy roots. I applied the half and half to my lengths the last 20 minutes and I am in love with the blonde. Thank you and you look great!!!

Have any of you done Albage? It is bleach-free lighter, but they say not to use it on damaged hair, but possibly an option for the future… Also, glad you mentioned about the root shadow because I didn’t think about not being able to use a high lift on a root shadow as an option.

Do you do anything to your scalp to stimulate the hair growth ? I am in a similar situation (hair damaged while going from black dyed hair to my natural dark ash blonde) and I focus on hair -growth lotions rubbed into my scalp daily and k18 on the lenght

so , I literally just went through what you went through last week , I have no slept all week and binge watched your videos , I did everything you did and spent almost 1000 on products and an705 on a dyson blowdryer , last night I decided to use a 2 step product I dont think you mentioned , the 2 step Aphogee product , it was ther cheapest of all the products I bought , this morning I took the plunge and did it , I was so scared and thought I was going to have to shave my head .... but it worked !!! It is a protein product and I intend to use it once a month as well as my other favorites and K18 mask . and the k18 spray and pueorology leave in conditioner and olaplex 0 olaplex 3 and also the olaplex 7 mixed with kestase oil . all the other olaplex #s are too heavy for my hair , and I like the weightless morrocan mask not the regular , again too heavy , and the light morrocan hair oil , any how thank you for your videos , you saved my life ! Have you tried the Aphogee 2 step . it was the cheapest product with the most noticeable change !

Hola Heidi, I had an experience very similar to yours not even a month ago.. after two years of growing out my hair from horrible bleach damage … to go into a professional after two years and in ONE day get half of my hair fried off .. luckily it’s not broken too short and very well hidden but I have it about as long as you. I came out of there with layers I didn’t ask for 🥺 I cried for a week long and I try not to think about it .. but boy it hurts💔 I have a lot of hair and thick … mi mama me consuela y me dice que se ve bien pero when I touch it I know half of it is gone… and on wash days it’s horrible because I see it all even more and it takes forever to dry 😣😭💔

My hair got burned off recently as well in a well known hair salon in England. This is the second time this happened in the past 5 years since I live here… Similar story to yours hair snapped in the crown area as well as the bottom. Went to a new hairdresser who I have been following on instagram for years now and she is all about haircare constantly sharing tips and tricks. When she saw my hair she refused to color it until at least spring next year. I’m going back to her for monthly trims and toner until she thinks my hair is strong enough to color it. She even refused doing roots. I am now using these root cover up sprays (managed to find one that is a fairly good match to my own color) and bought everything that was recommended productwise. My hair now feels softer and much healthier! She gave me advice I never got from the stylist in the salon I used to go to. Looking forward to healthier and more beautiful long hair in the future! Hope your hair grows quickly and healthy too 💗 Thanks for sharing 😊

I had this happen right before my wedding of all times. It was devastating, thankfully with bond repair products and good styling it did not look like it the day of but it took me at least a year of constant hair cuts and babying the ever loving you know what out of it to get it to a state where I was comfortable with again lol needless to say I’m extremely conservative with my coloring and bleaching now and only do so about twice a year now.

I use to get highlights. My hair was burned off at the root and lost at least half of my hair. My hair was even broken off at my hairline in the front. I have never and will never color my hair again. That happened in my late 20’s & I’m 46 and am planning on just keeping my hair color it’s natural color, even though I’m going to eventually go gray or white. I just can’t handle the stress. About 20 years later and I’m still traumatized. Then 10 years after that disaster, I told a hairdresser to cut 2 inches maximum and she chopped 6 inches off. Now, my hair has no hair color and is past my butt and very healthy. I know I need a haircut but I keep putting it off. Just going for a trim stresses me out. I’m so sorry u had to go through this. Today is the first time your channel has ever come up on my newsfeed. Thanks for sharing your story. I know it helps people feel that they’re not alone.

It’s been 8 months already. I’m so glad you are recovering well. Oh that sweet baby. My mom always had Chihuahua her entire life. They for some reason weren’t as sweet as your baby. Oh MSM will grow your hair fast fast. Check with doctor if you’re on any medications It sometimes it grows my hair a little too much. I’m Mediterranean and Middle Eastern decent so I have to constantly shave pluck etc etc if you catch my drift. 😂 So I take MSM two weeks then stop for a month. Repeat.

Thank you for all of your information and being open about your hair nightmare Journey, I know it's not easy. I'm a person who has been bleaching my hair for years and suffered a similar situation as yours over 10 years ago and I still have PTSD from it. The one video I watched you were using the Schwarzkopf high lift color, is there any reason why you switch to Igora? I'm thinking about trying the same process as you since I am dealing with hair damage from an overlapped and over-processed highlight job in September
