My first hamster rest his soul developed tumors had surgery and remember staying up all night with him to help him rehab. But even after a successful surgery it was too late and the tumors came back. Your videos helped me cope with the loss of my hamster. I'm happy to see Miso is doing better. You have a wonderful family of hamsters! I plan on doing the same thank you.

This is the worst part with having these lovely little beings under one's care. There's not much information, and lots of vets do not have training for hamster illnesses. I am so glad that Miso seems to be recovering! At her age, every day is a gift!

I had a hamster named Rob, who was supposed to be a ROBervorski but ended up being a golden Syrian. He got diagnosed with diabetes at around 9 months, but luckily he survived and went to the age of 2! Just wanted to share 😁

@@powerstar-uf7oh animals have always had diabetes and growths 40 years ago my Aunt and Uncle's dog, Lass, was put to sleep due to a fatty growth on one of her feet which made walking painful These are very common in certain breeds of dog,and the vet offered to remove it The only problem was that it would have affected her ability to walk easily afterwards, so as she was elderly (these things are more common in elderly animals just like in older people) they decided to not go ahead with surgery

@@powerstar-uf7oh because vets didn't test. If you don't test, you don't find. Tests cost money, people didn't spend the money. It's almost exactly the same with people/humans. I've nursed for 40 + years, we are now testing(and finding) lots of conditions in older people that we used to consider to be simply 'old age'. Oh, and more people have pets (again pets cost money) and the more animals (the more of anything) the higher the likelihood that things like cancer will happen. It's called percentages. The higher the overall number of something,the higher 1% of that number will be.

This was a very helpful video because I have a Syrian hamster that was never sick. She is getting older now so I'm worried that something bad will come up. My brothers' hamster got an ear infection. She was very sick and was always in pain. We didn't have a cure or a vet to go to, sadly after a few months, she passed away. R.I.P. Luna, you will always be in our hearts.

If she wiggles too much, you can always wrap her in a towel/blanket. At the vets they do this and It keeps them still and calm

It is so hard to find vet that treats hamster in my town. We only have two vets here. Sadly the one that I brought my hamster only treat animals to just as small as kitten. So they just gave me iodine to put on the wounds. So I chatted the other vet to make appointment and the clinic closed for the whole week cause they got covid like????? But thank God that my hammie wounds actually get better because of the iodine 😭😢❤☺. Pardon my English. Glad Miso is doing better now!! Miso deserved all the love! ❤❤❤❤

I know the feeling well. My previous hamster, Neville, had a tumour develop next to his left hind leg and although we tried treating it, it came back and he didn’t make it through surgery. Broke my heart tbh and it took a long time for me to want another hammie. Treating them asap is always the best way to do things. Good luck, Miso! ❤️

My hamster recently got a respiratory infection so I had to force feed her with a syringe too! It was so relatable to see Miso swearing in hammy language because my boy did the same🤣 Wish Miso all the best! I’m glad to hear Miso is still doing well despite her age. Fyi for future use mixing the antibiotics with something like baby food (hamster safe ingredients only) can make it a much more pleasant experience for your hamster
