Worth mentioning that although this is a beautiful set of tools, when starting out you honestly don't need this and a cheaper yet practical set will be more then suffice ~Peace~

Very nice toolset! The scorp is interesting. What brought me to greenwood working is the need for tools to work a hollow limbed hickory selfbow. I actually made a very similar tool out of an old worn out 1" (25mm roughly) box end wrench. It works phenomenally well, and as he said I don't need to switch tools when working either side of the limb...just change the orientation a little and it will carve the left, center, or right with equal ease. It's really funny how we bladesmiths think so alike in some ways, and so differently in others. I'm very much enjoying your channel friend, thanks for sharing.

ScrambledO It's honestly not as hard as you think (thats what she said) and is very addictive. Spoon carving is the best place to start and in the long run it'll improve your tool handling skills too i.e. knives, axes, etc ~Peace~

Congrats on this one Zed! A full size Pro tools kit some people would kill for... guilty! The bigger scorp is reall a nice equivalent of the twca cam, just that the gradual curvature allowes it to fit to the bowl of the spoon, which my twca cam is not able too... great woods on the handles aswell!

Wow Zed, you lucky man. What a very nice touch the blanket is with the button and tail. So on our next installment we can expect to see some carving done by you? If I had the set I'd be on my way to the woods or my most comfy chair to try them all out. lol I love the idea of the gouges being a loop, it makes sense. The laminate steel also allows you to have a great edge holding steel on the edge at a reduced cost. The high carbon steel is usually more expensive, so if you just use it for the edge and less costly mild steel for the rest you save money.

harry watkinson Hi Harry, it all depends on what wood you wanted on the handle, etc, you're best enquiring with Lee himself to get a quote. Bare in mind the blade is entirely hand forged with premium steel by one of the countries top blacksmiths and the handle is carved by hand too ~Peace~

Three Red Trees The handle feels great, it fits very well ergonomically and there are no issues with long periods of usage. Lee carves with the same design himself full time so the end product is tried tested ~Peace~

Double edged hook knife has been made for years and some say adds dangerous spine for the back blade is very sharp so double edged sword has devastating danger

This scorp is only sharp on one side, yes double sided ones are not great to use ~Peace~
