Added the LWCG pocket arm this summer to my gear. This fall I'll start putting together more content from the hunt. Hope to see you subscribe and find you in those comments this fall!

One thing to consider. You have to factor in your harness with your stand when comparing to a saddle setup. Saddle setup ='s saddle,sticks and pack. Stand setup='s stand, sticks and harness. Pack would be extras. I'm running a Tethrd Phantom Saddle with a Lone Wolf Wolf Pack with 4 One Sticks and single Aider on each stick. My weight comes in at 16.3125 lbs. Camera gear and accessories would be extra.

Been saying for years, after a personal study, that six feet is better than twenty if you use the cover. Height too often skylines you from the back. Never be afraid of a few feet up over many, just ask Andre.

My theory is deer keep a photographic memory of their comfort territory & that's how they can see "something ain't right" when a tree has a "new branch" on it. 😂

I rarely sit more than 4 hours at a time. i’m in a saddle now with 17” heliums. but i’m really considering this setup
@jhoffman81

Rich my sticks went back in the recall. I'm using helium's too. I can't say enough good about the stand though. It's so incredibly light and easy to hang. I often let cheap sticks then just take the stand. Heck I've left the helium's and just took the stand. I'm just so tired of carrying so much stuff. Now I'm starting to film my hunts so I have even more to carry. I love the stand, I'll never sell it

I ran 2 different saddles for 3 years. I love it and the packablility but there are definitely limitations. I grabbed the elevate stand a touch cheaper but all same idea. About same size as the .5. And it’s just as easy if not easier to set up than the saddle. It is certainly more comfortable in my opinion. And I’m definitely loving hunting low. It’s a fun puzzle and challenging. Hey man good luck

My one step stick and saddle setup weighs less than half that and I can climb and setup in half the time vs this stick/stand combo. I'm also not limited on climbing height like this setup with only 3 short sticks lol. Be safe out there.

@@jhoffman81 lol it does take practice but I've been doing it for a couple years now and it's less effort than using several sticks. Once you get comfortable, you're just climbing a stick, then sitting in a saddle, and then setting and climbing the same stick. The best benefit is getting down by rappelling. Safe and quick especially after your body is all cramped from being in a tree for several hours. Packing up is faster too. But to each his own. You've still got a great setup as long as those tethrd sticks hold up.

@@Rooster_king I sent them back for a full refund after the recall. I need to call them this week if it doesn't show up soon. Too many people on here, forums like saddlehunter and in my personal life told me to not risk it. I did not want to send them back, they were SO LIGHT. I've shot a couple out of a saddle, in fact my only coyote kill was with a bow out of a saddle! I've had a few injuries in my knees and one to my back that makes it really hard to sit still at times in a saddle especially. Wasn't too bad with leaf cover but when it would drop off i felt naked, even though the success results told me otherwise. Good luck, it will be here before we know it! Kill a big one!

The only reason I would go high is if I was sitting at a low point on the side of a ridge I get wind swirls. Thats when you'd try to get high enough to where your scent just runs above what's on the ground. I don't hunt height for coverage , for coverage I'd just go to foliage if available. If I go higher it's gecause I'm trying to get my scent away if I'm in a spot where my thermals are being extremely bad

@@jhoffman81 hah that's nuts. My problem being that high is then you run into issues trying to make an ethical shot or shot period if you're bow hunting.

I like my saddle, but I get frustrated with all the ropes. Something is always getting caught on a climbing stick. I have a hard time keeping everything in the right place to keep it easy. Most of the issue is more than likely me but it is so frustrating.

I’m running a .5 with mesh seat and the new Gen 2 ONE sticks. But I’m sending the sticks back. My luck, the step would break and the tube would go rite up butt deep in the woods. I’m not chancing it. What are you planning to do with yours? Keep them?
@jhoffman81
@jhoffman81 2 жыл бұрын
So far I'm planning to keep them. However it's in the back of my mind too. I've had them on a tree at ground level in the yard five times now. I think I'll be keeping a very close eye on them as well as the results of people who got theirs back. On saddlehunter it was reported that failures are immediate, not over time. I hope to not prove that wrong.

@@jhoffman81 gotcha. Man I hate that this is happening. I was very excited about them. Those sticks paired with the .5 would make one heck of a set up. I may put in a order for the eastern woods outdoors feather sticks.

@@DfI8587 I have no doubt its ultra comfortable. Any mesh seat I ever used was awesome. I have a big game I bought cheap, was a nightmare to assemble and has a tiny mesh seat like we would like to see. Its awesome in seat comfort. I had a hawk kickback that was insane comfortable too but getting into that stand was not my favorite thing in the world. Stepping off sticks on to it around the seat base put me on edge.
